I'm really hoping Michael Vick is going to be a strong advocate to stop the same kind of violence in the future. Who better to stand with a dog who might have died under his ownership before it happened. It could be a really powerful message for Michael to come out of Federal Prison doing TV promoting a change in culture. Keep in mind that dog fighting is still a very popular activity in low income areas. He could really make a difference in the long run.

2. To me, Vick's best move
(after prison on federal charges, and hopefully state charges still pending) is for him to advocate the rehabilitation of dogs seized from dog fighters, and not immediate euthanasia. If he came out and said that if his dogs could be rehabbed and rehomed, ANY dog deserves a shot at that same fate, and actively worked at that, I'd forgive him. His anti-dogfighting stance would ring hollow. His acknowledgment that the dogs deserve better would be very, very good. It would suggest he cared about the animals.

The "change in culture" won't happen because coward fuckwit dogfighters don't watch Animal Planet, and they see Vick as an idiot that got caught.

Make it about the animals and not some theory of "culture" in dogfighting. That's how Vick can help make a difference.

rehabilitated the dogs. It would be fantastic if he would be an advocate...I am not holding my breath.

5. It Would Only be a Further Abuse of the Animal-Cruelty Cause, as a Total Slap in the Face
Anyone who would actually suggest the cold, cruel torture-murderer of these animals, who profited off of them and then murdered them, as their voice and advocate, obviously does not really give a rat's ass (speaking of animals) about the issue, or the animals, at all. I heard this sickening bastard reading a prepared statement by the lawyer, to try to escape prison, as it was going to trial, and this asshole could not even keep a smirk off long enough to breeze through the "heartfelt" lines and get it over with. It was disgusting. Yeah, "sorry," blah. This would surely trick or impress no one. It reminds me of the time O.J. Simpson tried to get the "bitches" off Simpson's back, after a lifetime of battering them, and after murdering two people, by flipping off a check to a battered women's shelter; they refused it. This bastard Vick should never be heard of, or from, again. If Vick comes back from this, it only shows yet again, how violent males with a lot of money get away with anything. Let's think of the dogs, not Vick. Michael Vick (only one example) personally wetted down a dog, and then electrocuted it to death, throwing the corpse onto Vick's own secluded property, where training of an extremely cruel nature was done. If Vick comes on TV and tells us all to be nice to animals, I will want to kill somebody, too.

6. I doubt there will be little sympathy for Vick

When he does get out of prison he will most likely only be interested in trying to salvage what small little chance he may have left at playing professional football.

7. I'd like to see him volunteer as a chew toy.
I've read the details. I don't think he can even begin to make up for that, even if I believed for a minute that he sincerely wanted to, which I do not.
