Elizabeth Dole for McCain's VP choice?
1. She's female (a desperate ploy to attract Hillary supporters)
2. She has conservative credentials (wife of long-time Sen. Bob Dole)
3. Might help pick up a key state (North Carolina), as well as other Southern states

What do you think? I really expect McCain to try and take full advantage of this so-called "Hillary snub" and pick a female running mate himself. The only ones I can think of are Dole, Rice, Sarah Palin (Alaska) and Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

ROTFLMAO
But the fact that she's just like Bush only helps cement her "credentials".

I'd love to see a couple of senile old Same-As-Bush candidates running for the GOP.

6. If he selects a woman, it would probably be Kay Bailey Hutchison
She's got a little bit of name recognition and a lot of Republicans like her. It's probably not likely, the GOP isn't advanced enough to put a woman on their ticket.

22. If he picks a woman, I think he'll pick a moderate Repub that isn't a joke
Dole is a joke in both the Senate and NC.

If McCain actually picked someone like Olympia Snowe -- which he wouldn't and she wouldn't do anyway -- we'd be in a huge amount of trouble. I am actually very, very worried about who he might pick for VP, because the right Right woman could be bad.

26. Who would it be?
Sarah Palin is under investigation. Some say they'd buy their way out of that. I don't think so. More GOP corruption is not what they want.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson is mentioned a lot. However, the conservatives "might" go batshit. She was part of a moderate immigration movement a while back. Of course, she changed her tune quick on that. Now, she'd probably vote to build a fence anywhere, anytime.

Rice would be fun. Let's put a major player in the Bush administration on the ticket. That won't be much of a reminder.:sarcasm:

Fiorina has a whole lot of baggage from the corporate world. The Dems could dig into that forever.

There are more women who I have seen giving opinions, but they have no name recognition. I'm still trying to figure what woman he would use. I can't think of a Dem woman who'd cross the aisle unless you count JoeL.
:hi:

She's the only one I can think of that would make the McCain ticket more attractive to voters.

30. I know -- a friend and I were talking about his VP pick this weekend
She is a true blue liberal, and she said Olympia Snowe would actually make her vote for McCain if she knew he would die in office, because,"Snowe is more liberal than most of the Dems in Congress." Of course, there's no guarantee she would become President, so my friend won't vote for McCain. Then, we both shuddered in fear.
