My sis is having surgery.
My sister has had a mole type thing near her ear for many years and the doctors always told us it was a mole. It started hurting and itching so she went to a different doc and he told her it was a benign tumor so she is having surgery today. Wish her well she is terrified.

2. ccharles sister: I hope your surgery goes well.
Relax and when your safely out of the hospital, tease your brother for worrying so much!

3. Wishing her a complete recovery!
I had complete confidence in my Son's Doctor this past February when they removed a rather large tumor from his brain.

Have the same confidence and she will be ok.

4. Wishing her well.
Vitamin E oil will reduce the scarring on the other side of this procedure. Hope it goes really well for her.

5. that should be easy.
i watched them stick 8 needles in my breast to define the area around my tumor . the doctor told me my job was to stop the bleeding with my mind. it worked :):):)she should be fine... there a many people who could give her some perspective on tumors & cancer... that is probably what she fears most. the C word. it is just a thing---- life goes on & becomes more poingant. my support group was awesome!!!!!   :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :pals:

6. I can relate...
mine is facing breast cancer surgery in the next couple of weeks. She is terrified as well, and so is the family. It's hard, because I don't know how to ease her fears...not sure there is a way.

I wish your sister well. She'll be ok, but it will probably hurt quite a bit after the surgery. Ears are such tender little things. Give her a big hug from me, and take one for yourself, too!

11. does you sister have a good support system?
i had breast cancer & two of my sister's also. i was in a support group & they were not. i had a less traumatic experience than either of my sisters did and my cancer was worse than theirs as far as to size of tumor, stage of growth, etc. tell your sister 97% of breast cancer is curable if caught soon enough. it's not like it used to be :):):)

16. Thank you. I will pass this along to her.
As far as support, she has me, some friends, and her daughter/son-in-law. Her husband is not very supportive and has quite a few health issues of his own.

She is fortunate, because it has been caught very early, and although it is an aggressive type, it seems to be encapsulated thus far.

Thank you for your response...nice support for me, too!

8. Sending good vibes....
...positive thoughts and loads of sparkly light to your sister and your family today.

Surgery is a stressful thing, and she will pull through just fine.

I'm so glad that the tumor was benign. Your sister's situation reminds us that
it's always good to get a second opinion.

Best to your sister and your family today!

10. Wishing her well.
Sounds un-terrorrific. Just let the doc do his job and may she feel well soon if not sooner.

12. ((ccharles000 and sis)))
sending all of the positive vibes and thoughts from sunny Colorado here. Sometimes it is just the worry before the surgery that is so bad; hopefully, it will all be well.

13. I wouldn't be surprised
if it was a mole up until recently when it changed.

My younger son, now 21, was born with a birthmark/mole above his right ankle. I was told by his pediatrician not to worry about it, but to keep an eye on it and get him to a doctor immediately if it changes. He indicated that things like that, present from birth, were slightly more likely to change than were other things.
