Just got an e-mail from my brother in Minnesota
He lives "up nort' at da lake". We give each other crap about our weather all the time, me in the winter, him in the summer.

LMAO, he and the wife are out covering the gardens tonight!

"Frost advisories, freeze warnings issued for the Northland
The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued frost advisories and freeze warnings covering most of the Northland tonight as temperatures are forecast to fall into the 20s in some areas."

Well, it should knock down some of the mosquitoes.

4. I just returned from a week of kayaking, canoeing and....
fishing up north on one of those clean, cool MN lakes. I am *SO* glad I missed this cold front! (I really, really, really needed that vacation!)

BTW, the only time I noticed mosquitoes was between about 9:00 and 10:30 pm, which was surprising. It has been a "normal" comfortable summer, unlike the usually hot ones we've had the last few years.

5. And it rained in Oregon today. Who coulda guessed!
It is typical for that region to frost as early as August. It can snow in July.

my cousin Scotty in Minnesota told me it would be "getting cold here soon" - when it was already in the 30's there. :o
