No Union Worker Should Consider Voting for John McCain
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 07:17 PM by louis c
I'm a union president of a relatively small union (220 members). I love my work and I get as involved in the COPE and political activities as I possibly can. It infuriates me as to how our blue collar members continue to vote against their own self-interest. I have posted today that no woman should consider voting for John McCain. I would be remiss if I didn't post the same to my Union Brothers. No union member should even consider McCain. They'll use wedge issues, including race, to dissuade us and divide us. But in the end, our bread is buttered on the "Blue" side. Please, let's not get fooled once again. There is no such thing as a "Reagan Democrat". There are only Republicans (who have tried to destroy us for nearly 100 years) and Democrats (who have supported us every step of the way during that same time).

Let's stick together.

1. Vote Union, Vote Democratic, Vote Labor
If a Union member votes Republican and then bitches that his pay is less, his job is threatened, and his company is downsizing and he thinks he may lose his job, an enormous bolt of lightning should strike his sorry ass on the spot.

UFCW 24 years, brother. But we need to root out the DLC Quislings from the Democratic Party. To me they are more insidious than the Republicans themselves. They would sell out all of Labor for contributions for re-election from Chamber of Commerce lobbyists.

We need about 25 more Sherrod Browns in the Senate. He predicted the disaster that NAFTA has become to Labor.

2. I am a former AFSCME Steward - (Retired)
I'll go one better.
No working person, union or not, should vote Republican.

We are their enemy by their choice.

Better realise it, and act on it.

He's a gentle soul, loving America,
and holding up our traditional family values.
Why do you hate the troops?
