The age equals experience just got local
I just heard a commercial for some dickhead running for judge and it talked about his two careers, one in the military and one as a trial attorney for 25 years.

"Experience that someone in their 30's just doesn't have" was the last sentence in the commercial and I'm guessing it's against his opponent(s).

It's a new election gimmick

1. Yeah, that's the new trick
And, speaking as a geezer, I honestly do value experience, but I also know that we've had our time, and now we are to turn it all over to the next generation. We're the grayhairs who will be in the Cabinet, the advisers, the people who consult and give the benefit of our experience.

Bu, for the job, I want youth and energy and smarts.

2. I prefer to have someone call the shots
who has a tangible vested interest in the long term future of the nation. Someone who expects to be dead within 10-20 years can screw things all to hell and not have to live with the consequences.

The boomer generation in particular has wrought enough damage that it is well past time for them to step aside and let the next generation attempt to fix the catastrophic failures of the boomers. I struggle to name even a single item where the boomers left us in better shape than their parents left them.

5. In the good old days before Reagan
You could get a job right out of high school with a factory or the railroad and make at least $35k a year. My wife's uncle was a high school drop-out, worked at GM for 28 years and now gets a $55k pension.

He still complains about how tough it was back in his day

3. I don't think that many people will fall for it
because they know people--usually in their own families--who got older but no wiser.

It's sad but true. Some people just get old.

6. I take care of my mom and once she got on Medicare...
...she's turned into a complete drug addict who barely knows what the time of day is anymore.

7. If you think she's being overmedicated
please have her evaluated by another physician ASAP.
