So now the bush administration comes out with a timetable, and the MSM is silent
It was only a few months ago they said that a timetable would be the worst thing they could do

1. Yeah, it looks like the Bush admin's been phoning it in while copying off of Obama's notes.
Why doesn't the MSM actually notice that some of Obama's ridiculed suggestions have been instated as national policy already? Oh wait, I know, it's because then the MSM would need to eat crow.

5. Becuase then
they would have to admit all foreign policy, all the lives risked, comes second to oil and election ploys. The MSM job is plainly only as a WH propaganda machine.

6. If it is true that they plan to pull the troops back a ways

10. No, no, no, it's an aspirational timetable; completely different
Nothing at all like what we were ridiculing Obama for a few weeks ago, so stop saying that.

12. This is one of the worse aspects of the "king of the hill" society we have.
When jockeying for position, if the opponent finds a message that resonates, the message is copied. Truthful belief and its enunciation takes a backseat the message that's perceived to win.

This is by no means limited to political campaigns, as our pyramidal society seems to be filled with many local hills each with local private kings, but in politics, one manifestation is campaigns where either promises are made, or more cleverly, the appearance of promises, then when somebody's in office, the exact opposite of what they said in the campaign is done.

It can be discouraging.

13. This is an attempt to disarm Obama, he will now half to rewire parts of his stump speeches
And run on more domestic issues.

14. Shhhh...it's a time HORIZON, remember?
John Stewart correctly pointed out that a horizon is something you approach yet can never actually reach...
