Someone with a good memory for political ads, help me out here.

McCain had an ad on the air, in response to Obama's attack about his multiple homes-- on the same day that Obama's ad aired. Isn't that a little... fast? I can accept the idea that the McCain campaign had a response ad ready for this particular attack (just barely) but the quick response in having it actually aired the same day, so the Obama campaign's ad doesn't have even one day's worth of airing without McCain's response attack-- that seems odd to me.

Do political campaigns usually respond this quickly with television ads? I could swear there's usually a few days lag time. My first thought was that it reminded me of the Bush/Kerry contest, where the Bush campaign always seemed to two steps ahead of Kerry. I've always suspected they were illegally spying on his campaign, and McCain's quick response makes me wonder if they aren't doing that again.

1. I heard they had the Rezko ad in the can awhile
But they panicked when they realized Obama would gain some traction over the house issue, so they used that bullet before they wanted to.

2. It's probably one they had in the can since Hillary slammed him on Rezko in a debate
They ahve others too..

There will be one about how "elite" he is and how he thinks people "cling to religion & guns"..

Her campaign wrote the scripts for the ads & they are probably all ready to go:(

3. ure they're spying
If they not listening on the system that GW set up for them, then they probably have their mole planted right amongst their midst's.

4. These Days It Doesn't Take Much To Get An Ad Out
As others here have said, a good chance most of this ad was already in the can for a while...they were waiting for the chance to unleash it.

It used to be that video editing was the province of a few special "blades" and it would take a couple days for the copy to pass up and down the chain of command...living off of mail and overnight delivery. Today, anyone can be a video editor...scripts, audio and video bits can be emailed in seconds, slapped together with Pinnacle or another popular video program and the turn-around is just as fast.

Both campaigns have a full squadron of PR and video people at beckon call. That happens when you have millions to spread around. There's even become political video "specialists" (what Raelle Hunter/Drucker was trying to become). They've taking "rapid response" to new levels and extremes.
