this AM? My cynicism knows no bounds, but what I heard from him today just keeps it alive. While he was very informative about the "behind the scenes" activities in D.C which many of us are quite familiar with, he also enlightened me further.

He stated that Mark Warner has received $206,000 in lobbyist money this year and went on to talk about the PAC money being contributed to the upcoming Democratic Convention.

However, he also stated this is "standard fare" of BOTH Conventions, who will have MANY back-room "parties" who want to garner favors from our Representatives & Senators. The goings-on that too many people know nothing about without doing some research!

As one who has thought that a THIRD Party would be beneficial to our system, he dashed my hope that this would be any different than the TWO we now have. Simple mathematics... they will also need MONEY and will find they will be courted by the very same people and/or system now in place! It's simply about MONEY!

I visited the web site www.sunlightfoundation.com and was SHOCKED to see that AARP is one of the largest donors to Republicans!! There's MUCH MORE to read and some information about PAC money that Obama needs for the Convention, which he also talked about. Of course McCain is no different, but the Obama information made me flinch.

Sorry to be so negative, but I'd rather be informed than naive! I'm sure OpenSecrets has some of the same information, it's just that he was on today.
