TV Show Focuses on Michael Vick Dogs ( I won't be able to watch this)
Four pit bulls who were rescued during a 2007 police raid on a property owned by Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick will be featured on the National Geographic Channel series “Dogtown” during a special two-hour season premiere on Sept. 5.

“Saving the Michael Vick Dogs” follows the journeys of four dogs named Cherry, Meryl, Denzel, and Georgia, as Dogtown’s team – including assistant dog care manager and trainer John Garcia, dog care manager Michelle Besmehn, veterinarian Patti Iampietro and trainer Ann Allums – works to help the dogs overcome their violent pasts.

1. The WAPO ran an article about these dogs..
they were able to save a surprising number of them. I agree though, I'm not watching it.

2. It should be a good story.
I think almost all of the dogs were not euthanized, so they should be living a pretty good life.

3. It's about Best Friends' rehabilitation of the dogs. Why wouldn't you watch it?

4. cause I'm real squeamish when it comes to animals
and I don't want to see what they looked like after fighting

there's this commercial for the Humane Society that breaks my heart - I can't watch it. It always makes me cry seeing the unwanted and abused cats and dogs

5. I cry at the commercial as well; the one with 'in the arms of an angel'. However, I view
Best Friends' success with these dogs as inspiring.

6. I'm sure the focus will be on how happy and well-adjusted
the dogs are now...Hopefully, it will provide some much needed good press for pitbulls as a breed, as well, or at least some balance...

I know, though, if they focused on the VICK part of the story, I'd want nothing to do with it either...
