FBI Sweeps Anthrax Under the Rug
Its all put together in this article by Sheila Casey:

http://www.opednews.com/articles/1/FBI-sweeps-anthrax-under-t-by-Sheila-Casey-080818-921.html

...

Ivins had nothing to do with the 2001 anthrax attacks. The attacks were almost certainly carried out by the only group that had the means to produce the highly weaponized anthrax in the letters: the CIA, its contractor Battelle Memorial Institute of West Jefferson, Ohio., and the Army at Dugway in Utah.

...

On Dec 16, 2001, The Washington Post corroborated the Sun report by stating that “Dugway is the only facility known in recent years to have processed anthrax spores into the powdery form that is most easily inhaled,” also stating, “Army officials in Washington said yesterday that Fort Detrick does not have the equipment for making dried anthrax spores.”

...

"In my opinion, there are maybe four or five people in the whole country who might be able to make this stuff, and I'm one of them," said Richard O. Spertzel, former deputy commander of USAMRIID (the Army bio-defense facility at Detrick). "And even with a good lab and staff to help run it, it might take me a year to come up with a product as good."

...

Who had the expertise to weaponize anthrax?
William C. Patrick III, and Ken Alibek.

Much more at the link.

Investigators Conclude Russian Defector is Lead Suspect in Anthrax Mailings Case

Sandpoint, ID- Three veteran investigators have independently narrowed the field of anthrax mailings suspects to a single Russian defector affiliated with two heavily implicated defense contractors and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Kanatjan Alibekov, alias "Ken Alibek," the President of Hadron Advanced Biosystems, should be re-interrogated by the FBI, according to three researchers who arrived at this conclusion independently. They say Stephen Hatfield-the military virologist cited by FBI officials in recent weeks as a chief subject was not likely involved in the mailings at all.

The three men include: Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz-a public health and emerging diseases expert, Michael Ruppert-a retired Los Angeles Police Department homicide detective, and Stewart Webb-a federal whistle blower credited with supplying key evidence to federal prosecutors during the 1989 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) scandal. All three investigators say overwhelming evidence implicates Dr. Alibekov and the parties he served before and during the anthrax mailings, including the CIA. This, they propose, might best explain why the FBI's inquiry has floundered.

Their compiled evidence is largely public knowledge. Dr. Alibekov was the first Deputy Director of Biopreparat-the Soviet Union's leading biological weapons testing center. He oversaw military anthrax production for nearly 20 years, and was personally responsible for 32,000 employees at 40 facilities when he suddenly defected to the United States in 1992 to begin working for the CIA. According to interviews, Dr. Alibekov allegedly defected to help stop the biological weapons race, not for monetary reward. Yet, his activities in America indicate otherwise.

Profited from the October 2001 Anthrax attacks with new US-Budgets or contracts (See Anthrax-911-Gate). Hadron was created when XONICS got into trouble with SEC. In July 2002 Hadron became Analex Corporation. Hadron bought these companies since 1997/8: Analex Corporation, Advanced Biosystems (ABS) (biological warfare treatments) , Avenue Technologies, Inc (information warfare) and SyCom Services (real-time embedded radar systems)

Hadron developed Pharmaceuticals used against Biological Warfare Agents, Analysis of Bio-Warfare and Bio-Terrorism Threats. In 1998, John D. Sanders, one of their directors completed the acquisition of Vail Research and Technology Corporation ("Vail"), a privately-held information technology firm based in Northern Virginia, for approximately $1.6 million. Vail provides a comprehensive range of superior-quality professional and technical services to clients -- including the U.S. Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA ), U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Special Operations Command, NASA, Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce, Department of Energy as well as private-sector firms.

In May 1999 Hadron was supported with a new director and Chief Scientist, Ken Alibek (former Battelle -> and Biopreparat, Russia ->).

In June 1999 Sycom, a subsidiary of Hadron, put Shawn McCoy as a new president in charge. McCoy formerly worked with Betac Corporation, Lockheed and Martin Marietta Corporation, and serviced as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy. Jon M. Stout, another Hadron-president, was former president of his own company DPC Technologies, Inc., a military intelligence IT company he had founded with his wife in 1988, and sold later to Northrop Grumman. Gerald R. "Mac" McNichols, Sc.D., another director came from the Air Force. Gerald Young was management consultant with DPC Technologies until 1999 when DPC was acquired by Northrop Grumann Logicon. Scott Reuter was former TRW (->) and BTG. Other partners of Hadron are The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) or Usamriid.

George Tonn, another Hadron-director was former director of Raytheon's Director of the Advanced Battle Management Systems. He worked with Hughes Aircraft (acquired by Raytheon), Saic and IBM Federal Systems. In 1983 Dominic Laiti, Chairman of HADRON, INC. wanted to buy Inslaw Corp (distributor of spy program PROMIS). On June 14th, 2001, one week before the BioTerror Exercise, Operation DarkWinter took place (June 22-23, 2001, Andrews AFB, Johns Hopkins Center for Civilian Biodefense Studies), Hadron announced that the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command "has awarded a Hadron subsidiary, Advanced Biosystems, Inc., a $1.7 million increase in the total amount of its existing one-year contract to develop new medical defenses for anthrax. Hadron was awarded the original $2.6 million contract in March 2001."

Dark Winter simulated a complex smallpox biowarfare scenario. In this "Dark Winter" simulation, 16,000 people in the United States would have contracted smallpox within two weeks. Among the observers, participants and exercise staff of Dark Winter had been members of Johns Hopkins Center for Civilian Biodefense Studies, ANSER Institute for Homeland Security, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, FBI, House Armed Services Committee, CSIS, Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Inc. Source: http://www.hopkins-biodefense.org/participants.html

In May 2002, Hadron/Analex had been awarded the Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Support (ELVIS) contract by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). (See Hadron-PromisConnection)

and he's involved with PROMIS

I read that
The intelligence investigation is believed to have originated in Washington, where it emerged that Kelly had contacts with two companies in the U.S. bio-defense industry.

One of the men he was in touch with was a former Russian defector, Kamovtjan Alibekov. When he arrived in America, he changed his name to Ken Alibek. He is now president of Hadron Advanced Biosystems - a company specializing in medicines against biological terrorist attacks. Kelly was himself considering resigning from his senior post at the Ministry of Defense to work in America. Before his death, he had been discreetly headhunted by two companies. One was Hadron Advanced Biosystems, which has close ties to the Pentagon.

Hadron describes itself as "a company specializing in the development of technical solutions for the U.S. intelligence community." Hadron also has links to William Patrick, who has five classified patents on the process of developing weaponized anthrax. He is a biowarfare consultant to both the Pentagon and the CIA.

6. It might well be Alibek.
That said, I consider neither Horowitz or Ruppert reliable investigatory sources. Horowitz has been all over the map for years, flitting from conspiracy to conspiracy, and Ruppert himself has publicly admitted to certain health issues that would preclude him from reliability. As for Mr. Webb, I cannot comment.

Does this preclude the possibility of Alibek being involved? No, but I would have to see some considerable amounts of independent research that supports the theory, just not from those two gentlemen. Could Alibek have been patsied himself, by his business associates? Sure. Hell, they are in information warfare. All you have to do is feed the information to someone who will bite on it. They don't have to be working together,

7. I'm surprised the Russians haven't killed Alibek for defecting to the US.
Somebody who was that high up inside the Russian bioweapons program would be a big liability if he defected.

See, he looks American now, nothing to see here move along.

HOMELAND DEFENSE: Tell us about the level of secrecy involved in this program, when you first got in it in 1975, and then throughout your fifteen years there.

KEN ALIBEK: The biological weapons program was the most secret program in the Soviet Union. It was more secret, more classified than even the nuclear program, mostly for two reasons. First reason, it was a prohibited activity. The second reason, in the Soviet Union there were three levels of classification: secret level, top-secret level, and special importance. My program had a “special importance level” classification. If someone knew the real purpose of the program, they were supposed to have special importance level of clearance.

...

HOMELAND DEFENSE: In the United States, there are some black programs, very secret programs that a lot of people don’t know about. But this was such a massive program that all key leadership in national security was involved in this. Ministry of defense, the military, and all the way up to the politburo.

KEN ALIBEK: You are right. For example, there was a governmental body named the Military Industrial Commission, or VPK. The Commission was led by the vice–prime minister. And they had five major directorates: nuclear weapons <directorate>, chemical weapons directorate, biological weapons directorate, space directorate, and conventional weapons <directorate>—rockets and conventional weapons. In this case, you can imagine the level of importance in this program.

...

HOMELAND DEFENSE: I’ve heard you use the term naïve when describing American attitudes concerning arms control and verification.

KEN ALIBEK: I used a different word: gullible.

HOMELAND DEFENSE: Let’s talk about the biological warfare convention. Is it verifiable? Is it worth the paper it’s written on?

KEN ALIBEK: It’s worthless.

...

On edit: The interview was published Sept. 28, 2000, well before the anthrax mailings:

HOMELAND DEFENSE: OK. Let’s say I’m an Usama bin Laden–type individual. I have millions of dollars. Can I produce a high-quality “Ken Alibek–caliber” dry powdered anthrax?
KEN ALIBEK: In many cases it’s not likely.

Battelle exposed in anthrax biochemical conspiracy
January 14, 2002

Mainstream news accounts have finally fingered Battelle Memorial Institute, the spooky Dr. Strangelove Institute in Columbus, as ground zero in our domestic military-industrial anthrax scare. With five people dead and eighteen ill, Battelle’s role in directing the Defense Department’s “joint vaccine acquisition program” is now coming under heavy scrutiny.

Battelle, in partnership with Michigan-based Bioport, has a virtual monopoly on military anthrax vaccine production in the U.S.. British and U.S. news accounts describe Bioport’s owner as a top secret British biowarfare consortium, Porton Down. Perhaps not ironically, the Chairman and CEO of the Porton Down company is Fuad El-Habri, a bin Laden family associate. Laura Rozen’s interesting article for the website Salon is must reading on the subject.

Admiral William J. Crowe, Jr., a former Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, is one of the four-person Board of Directors of Bioport and holds a 13% interest in the company. Some investigators link the multinational investment firm and defense contractor, the Carlyle Management Group -- that was involved in managing the bin Laden family fortune prior to Sept. 11 to Bioport. Former CIA Director Frank Carlucci, Bush the Elder’s Chief of Staff James Baker III and the former President himself are all associated with the Carlyle Group.

As I reported in the Columbus Alive immediately after the anthrax scare began, Battelle is involved in developing a new and stronger strain of anthrax at its West Jefferson, Ohio labs. Don’t be deceived by the fake farmland facades of the W. Jefferson complex. It’s the center of a top secret defense project going under the name “Project Jefferson,” according to the New York Times. The actual lab is BL-3 Anthrax Lab. The Times also confirmed that the CIA is also involved with its own top secret anthrax project called code name “Clear Vision.”

As I noted in the Alive, the former No. 2 man in the Soviet biochemical warfare operation, Kanatjan Alibekov (now going by the alias Ken Alibeck) is a classified consultant with both the CIA and Battelle. A 1998 New Yorker article pointed out the work between William C. Patrick III and Alibeck on the anthrax project

Anthrax, Greed, and Deceit (Part I of II)

By Cheryl Seal
16 August 2001

PART ONE
Making a Killing: the Dark and Ongoing Story of BioPort and the Anthrax Vaccine

The anthrax was released by a US insider as part of a covert plan to restrict civil liberties, increase pharmaceutical profits and fulfil military and political objectives. -Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz

(snip)

"It is the story of BioPort, a modest-sized maker of vaccines in Lansing, Michigan that is owned in large part by the Carlyle Group. "

- Am pasting the rest of the story. Too much information to delete.

"What it really amounts to is a slick money laundering operation: the Group's contacts in the Pentagon (right now their best friend is Donald Rumsfeld) steal money from the tax payer and funnel it into Caryle's various operations and call it a "contract."

"Case in point: when the Carlyle cartel helped take over the Lansing lab, within three weeks, they had been handed a government contract in which the price per dose of vaccine was tripled over what it had been the day before BioPort took over. If that ain't theft, then the Pope ain't Polish!"

September 1998: A small government-owned lab in Michigan engaged in developing an anthrax vaccine is bought for $24.8 million by a secretive group of "investors" calling themselves BioPort. BioPort investors include George Bush Sr, James Baker III, and Frank Carlucci under the name of the Carlyle Group. It also includes Adm. William J. Crowe Jr., former chair of the joint chiefs of staff under Reagan who also served as US ambassador to Britain under President Clinton. According to Maj. Glenn MacDonald USAR, Crowe was one of the thugs back in the Reagan dark ages who sold Saddam Hussein anthrax warfare technology in the hopes Iraq would unleash the disease on Iran.

Another major BioPort stockholder is ex-Prime Minister of the UK John Major. We bet Tony Blair knows all about it -if indeed he isn't a silent stock partner. And then there's Fuad El-Hibril, a man who is close to the bin Laden family and who in the past has expressed sympathy for OBL. El-Hibril became BioPort's CEO. El-Hibri was based in England in the 1990s, where he operated a vaccine manufacturing company called Porton Products International of Porton Down, in the UK. One of the anthrax strains originating from Ft. Detrick and related to the isolates used in the anthrax attacks is called the Porton strain for the Porton lab. In a chart in Timothy Read's article in Science, one of the possible routes shown for the anthrax that ended up in the attacks was via Porton Down.

Two weeks later: (Still Sept. 1998): BioPort lands exclusive Department of Defense contract worth $45 million to produce an anthrax vaccine. The DOD agrees to pay three times the cost of the original contract, upping payment for vaccine from $3.50 a dose to $10 a dose.
November, 1998: Crowe and Bush, Sr. travel to Saudi Arabia where they meet with members of the bin Laden family.

Ongoing, from 1997 through Oct. 2001: BioPort repeatedly fails to pass FDA inspections. These inspections were described by one critic as "an unmitigated disaster," revealing contamination, inadequate record-keeping and unapproved procedures. Several vaccine batches failed sterility tests and were quarantined (by the way, the Bush administration later gave BioPort permission to administer vaccines from these contaminated batches to the American public -see below). The company had to subcontract Hollister-Stier Laboratories in Spokane, Wash., to fill the vaccine vials when its own procedures kept failing. Yet though Hollister-Stier has been the second hand supplier of the vaccine now for many months and has passed its FDA inspections, the DOD continued to pump millions into keeping BIOPORT artificially resuscitated. So quality in this man's government is not only NOT rewarded, it is exploited to keep the evil-and-or-inept propped up.

March 1999: A statement on anthrax vaccine presented to Congress reveals the outrageous history of BioPort, an Army cover-up of negative reactions to the vaccine, and that at least 50 different types of adverse reactions associated with the vaccine. The report also reveals (a finding also reported in European medical journals, including the "Lancet") that the ONLY population of veterans engaged in the Gulf War action who were not afflicted by any cases of Gulf War Syndrome were the French -who were also the ONLY population of GW soldiers who did not receive the vaccine. Now has anyone ever investigated THAT smoking gun? Yeah, right, and the Pope's a Fiji Islander.
Statement to Congress: Gulf War vets page:

February 17, 2000: Congressional report recommends terminating anthrax vaccine program due to BoPort's mismanagement and injury reports.

July 2000: Two Congressional hearings are held on BioPort, including one conducted by the House Armed Services Committee It is revealed that the company has engaged in Enron-style bookkeeping, manipulating earnings projections while having money funneled to them from the Pentagon against recommendations.

November, 2000: The Hartford Courant reveals that BioPort has failed to track deadly reactions in people receiving its anthrax vaccine, including deaths. Approximately 1,200 servicemen and women have had severe reactions, with some deaths traceable to the vaccine. US Rep. Christopher Shays of Ct. accuses BioPort of indifference to the dangers of its product: "Good men and women willing to serve and die for their country are being made needlessly ill."

July 2001: FDA gives BioPort the go-ahead to use quarantined lots of anthrax vaccine on the public in the event of an attack -in essence, giving the company permission to dump potentially dangerous vaccines that had failed to pass inspections on Americans, and pocketing otherwise lost profits. Petition started to demand BioPort destroy these potentially lethal vaccines.

August 2001: White house starts passing out Cipro to staff. Recipients reportedly include Cheney and Bush

September 2001: Associated Press suggests that Battelle Memorial Institute in West Jefferson, Ohio is engaged in "Operation Jefferson," a secret project in which "a new and highly lethal strain of anthrax" was being developed at its labs. Around this same time, Battelle hired an anthrax expert, William C. Patrick III, to determine the ways, means, and results of mailing powdered anthrax through the post. Battelle is reputed to have a "working relationship" with BioPort. Battelle and Bioport , who have a "working relationship" are considered the real "chief suspects" by some.

September 2001: The first anthrax attack occurs, striking down a man in Florida.

October 2001: BioPort fails yet another FDA inspection.

October 2001: Bush sends national guard to "protect" BioPort round the clock -while failing to deploy any troops to protect nuclear power plants or other facilities engaged in biological warfare research.

October 2001: Donald Rumsfeld pushes to get BioPort approved over FDA objections...he's an expert, of course. He forced the approval of aspartame while CEO of Searle over FDA objections, a move that ultimately made billions for the corporation. Today, complaints of health problems related to aspartame account for more than half of all health-related adverse product complaints made to the FDA.
Falsification of aspartame results Rumsfeld and Conlon's role in the deception

December 2001: Manuals from BioPort are discovered in an Al Queda hideout in Afghanistan -the report disappears from mainstream news within 24 hours.

January 2002: Bush administration gives BioPort green light to start shipping anthrax vaccine.

March 2002: Pentagon announces that the vaccine has been declared safe by the Institute of Medicine. However, this is the same "Institute" that was investigated by the Department of Health and Human Services for serious conflict of interest when it cranked out another vaccine "study for hire" during the Reagan years -this one on the safety of the pertussis/rubella vaccines. Now here we are in another corporate rightwing administration and the Institute is back to its old modus operandi. Several members of the committee that slapped together the report the Bush folks wanted to see on anthrax have (and I quote from the study intro: "worked for, or are currently receiving funding from, pharmaceutical companies that make vaccines other than the anthrax vaccine". We are supposed to believe that because they aren't right this minute working for BioPort or on anthrax vaccine that there is no conflict of interest here. But anyone who knows anything at all about the ongoing vaccine controversy knows that the vaccine industry itself -not just a specific vaccine- is under fire. In the committee's findings, they specifically say, not once but a few times that the anthrax vaccine does not cause any more reactions that ANY OTHER TYPE OF VACCINE. In other words, the bogus study amounts to free validation/advertising for ANY OTHER TYPE OF VACCINE.

It should also be noted here that the anthrax vaccine flap is not the first time that a vaccine "crisis" was created for political reasons with disastrous results:

Another case of "chilling deja vu"? An anatomy of the swine flu scare. Gerald Ford was up for reelection and failing in the polls when he called for ALL Americans to be vaccinated with a similarly dubious vaccine that ended up killing and disabling thousands.

August 2002: After forensic biologist Timothy Read reveals that the anthrax isolated from the terror attack victim can be differentiated from other known strains by dozens of genetic markers, the Justice Department suddenly makes a show of rounding up suspects, especially focusing on Stephen J. Hatfill who was associated with Fort Detrick. Why? Because Hatfill filled the emergency bill nicely: he is big and tough and faintly menacing looking, not to mention almost swarthy -makes good press. Also, he didn't even work with anthrax -he was a virologist. So the administration knows the charges are unlikely to stick for long. But the flurry of press and apparent activity will, they hope, take the heat off until an exit strategy can be devised for the real perpetrators.

I just can't wait for the next act."

11. Great info on the anthrax vaccine SLAD !

The fact is that Dr. Ivins was under tremendous pressure to solve the problems of the vaccine (most likely due to the consequences of Gulf War syndrome), and he was concerned about the future of Bioport to the point that it was driving him insane. This is all spelled out fairly clearly in his emails that the FBI posted on its Amerithrax webpages. Why was he allowed to continue working at Fort Detrick if he was clearly having mental health issues? Did Ivins come up with this grand scheme to save Bioport all on his own?

BioPort's owner is Porton Down. Guess which other "suicide" worked for them?
Posted by robertpaulsen on Thu Aug-07-08 04:04 PM

David Kelly.

Peace Patriot posted some gems that I will reprint here:

33. David Kelly worked at Porton Down as well--and was friends with Judith Miller, .
whom I notice was one of the reporters named in the lawsuit, above. In fact, Kelly was Miller's chief quoted source for her book "Germs"--about bio-warfare, published soon after 9/11. And it was to Miller that David Kelly wrote one of his last emails, on the day he died--the email in which he expressed concern about "the many dark actors playing games."

The Anthrax plot is a possible motive for Kelly's murder that I had never thought of--and I don't think anyone else has either--that what he knew that got him killed was not about Iraq WMDs, but about anthrax.

The reasons that it seemed to do with Iraq are many. Kelly was a UN weapons inspector in Iraq. His whistle-blowing to the BBC was about Iraq. And he booked plane tickets to go to Iraq on the day he died. He was intending to participate in the U.S. invasion force weapons inspections.

What he said to the BBC--that the pre-war intel had been exaggerated ("sexed up," as the reporter put it)--didn't seem all that earthshaking. Lots of people knew that--the UN inspectors, Scott Ritter, the French, the Germans, and billions of ordinary citizens, including most Americans (55% to 60% of whom opposed the invasion of Iraq--Feb 03, all polls). Exaggerated intel--lies, psyops, disinformation--can all be drowned in the corporate 'news' river of forgetfulness, which was particularly toxic at that time. Could "exaggerated intel" have been reason to murder an insider white guy? On July 7, 2003, Tony Blair was informed that Kelly "could say some uncomfortable things" (not had said; "could say.") Also, Kelly said something to an acquaintance after he was interrogated at a "safe house" that also indicated that he knew something far more threatening than exaggerated intel. He said he had told his bosses that he wasn't about to "reveal any state secrets." So the question was: What "state secrets" did he know that could have gotten him killed?

My guess was that the Bushites intended to plant nukes in Iraq, to be 'found' by the U.S. troops--as part 2 of the Iraq/Niger nuke forgeries scheme. That would explain a number of things, including why somebody in the Bush Junta was so insistent on Bush asserting the Iraq/Niger nuke claim, which had been discredited. It was taken out of Bush's speeches twice, and somehow found its way back in. (He ultimately had to admit the error--probably the only time he has ever done so.) So, it looks very like a set up--Bush makes the claim; the troops then "find" the nukes. (And, never forget, Judith Miller was accompanying those troops, anxious for the scoop of a lifetime, which she had prepped with her lies in the NYT).

And for another, it was the sort of ethical line that David Kelly might have balked at crossing. Signing off on "exaggerated intel" was one thing; planting weapons was quite another. Kelly was a top scientist, praised by all--and legendary as a tough weapons inspector. He passionately believed in his work of WMD counter-proliferation. Something caused him to turn against the Iraq War, in late spring 2003, when he began whistleblowing. His discovery of a scheme to plant the weapons answers many questions about his motivation, his character and the events surrounding his death. In addition, he was murdered four days after Valerie Plame was outed--and her outing was connected to Iraq. Kelly's office and computers were searched. And then four days after his murder, Novak additionally outed the entire Brewster-Jennings WMD counter-proliferation network (putting all of its agents/contacts at risk of getting killed). Everything pointed to Iraq--as the focus of the "state secrets" that the Bushites/Blairites feared would be disclosed by this whistleblower.

However, the motive for his murder could have been something else. And knowledge about the Anthrax plot certainly qualifies as a motive for murder. That he was murdered I have almost no doubt. The only other possibility is pressured suicide--much like Ivins--but Kelly was a straightup kind of guy--well liked, highly respected, with a loving family. There is plenty of evidence that he felt forward-looking on 7/17/03 (the day he was murdered)--including, for instance, emails about his daughter's upcoming wedding. And the manner of his death is just plain absurd, for a man of science. It makes no sense at all, in any way. (Goes out for a walk, cheerfully hails a neighbor, sits down under a tree, cuts one wrist--the ulnar artery--with a dull knife, and bleeds to death all night, under a tree near his home.) (Among other things, the ulnar artery is deep--you generally can't bleed to death from cutting it, because it closes up.) Further, the Blairites had just released him from a "safe house" interrogation and had sweated his testimony to a Parliament defense committee, after weeks of huge controversy and apparent panic in the Blair government. (He didn't say any more "uncomfortable things.") And they sent him home without surveillance? Not credible. So, where were his watchers, as he bled to death all night under a tree?

And I've barely grazed the absurdities and black holes in the official 'investigation.' I think he was outright murderered, and I think he knew something that was very dangerous to the Bushites/Blairites.

This latest bioweapons expert to "commit suicide"--Ivins, in the Anthrax case--prompts me to start thinking: could Kelly's death also be connected to the Anthrax plot?

--------

Here is another Porton Down chem/bio warfare scientist--killed in a small plane crash in 2004. Research should be done on any connection to Kelly, and, of course, to Ivins, Ft. Dietrich and the corporations involved. Paul Norman sounds rather like Kelly, in his passion for WMD counter-proliferation. (A lot of biochemists have died, many under suspicious circumstances, over the last 5-6 years. This site contains a list of them.)

http://www.stevequayle.com/dead_scientists/UpdatedDeadScientists.html

"#58: Dr. Paul Norman, age 52. Died: June 27, 2004. From Salisbury Wiltshire. Killed when the single-engine Cessna 206 he was piloting crashed in Devon. Expert in chemical and biological weapons. He traveled the world lecturing on defending against the scourge of weapons of mass destruction. He was married with a 14-year-old son and a 20-year-old daughter, and was the chief scientist for chemical and biological defense at the Ministry of Defense's laboratory at Porton Down, Wiltshire. The crash site was examined by officials from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and the wreckage of the aircraft was removed from the site to the AAIB base at Farnborough."

34. Kelly's history at Porton Down (just a bit)--and a few other things...
LibertyorDeath post at DU in 2005 (comment #25):

"In 1984 Dr. Kelly was invited by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to take the position of chief microbiologist at its secret facility at Porton Down. Kelly had been working in the NERC Institute of Virology in Oxford. He brought a number of scientists with him from there to Porton Down

"At the Hutton inquiry, Brian Jones testified as to Kelly's involvement, with the highest security clearance, in analyzing top-secret information regarding biological weapons of the U.K. and other governments. Jones was director of a department on the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS). That involvement, beginning in 1987, presumably continued until his (Kelly's) death and through his several other jobs as weapons 'inspector' in Russia and (for UNSCOM) in Iraq.

"It was before and during Kelly's tenure at Porton Down that it became involved with South Africa's bioweapon program named Project Coast. A cardiologist named Wouter Basson who was the personal physician of South African Prime Minister Botha headed the project." (my emphasis)

News article on Dr. Paul Norman's plane crash: (2/7/04)
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-11737876-details/WMD+expert+killed+in+plane+crash/article.do

Questions: Did Norman succeed Kelly as chief microbiologist at Porter Down? Could Norman have been one of the scientists that Kelly brought with him to Porter Down (who then succeeded him)? What was their relationship? What could they have mutually known that got them both murderered within a year of each other? That's a very high toll of British head microbiologists, in only 7 months time. The Hutton coverup was swiftly done. The inquiry was convened three days after Kelly's death. The report came out in Dec 03, only five months later (and received blistering criticism). Norman's small plane crashed about a month later. Did Norman know something about Kelly's death? And does either death have anything to do with the Anthrax case and Ivins' death?

The Hutton Report
http://www.the-hutton-inquiry.org.uk/content/hi-pn210703.htm
(Although it is a coverup, full of black holes where critical information should be, it contains a lot of interesting detail--for instance, the item I mentioned above, that Blair was told that Kelly "could say some uncomfortable things," on 7/7/03, the day after Joe Wilson's Iraq/Niger nuke op-ed was published, and one week before Valerie Plame was outed, with Kelly murdered three days later.)

35. Destroying the reputation of the target, post-mortem...
From Fort Detrick With Love

(Steven Block of Stanford University, an expert on biological warfare) also told the Dallas paper: "The FBI, after all these months, has still not arrested anybody . . . It's possible, as has been suggested, that they may be standing back because the person that's involved with it may have secret information that the United States government would not like to have divulged.

"And what the government would not want divulged is the fact that the United States has been in flagrant violation of the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention. Article 1 of the convention specifically states: "Each State Party to this Convention undertakes never in any circumstance to develop, produce, stockpile or otherwise acquire or retain: 1. Microbial or other biological agents, or toxins whatever their origin or method of production, of types and in quantities that have no justification for prophylactic, protective or other peaceful purposes. 2. Weapons, equipment or means of delivery designed to use such agents or toxins for hostile purposes or in armed conflict."

http://www.counterpunch.org/madsenanthrax.html

---

It seems kind of "quaint" now--concern about anybody knowing that they were busting treaties--but that was 2002, when the Bush Junta was still feeling its way, trying to terrorize Leahy and Daschle into okaying the Patriot Act that almost no one had read.

The above article, by Wayne Madsen, originally published at CounterPunch (4/8/02), goes on to discuss....

---

"The Death of Dr. Wiley: Murder They Wrote

"The one person who was in a position to know about the origin of the anthrax sent through the U.S. Postal Service met with a very suspicious demise just a month after the attacks first began.

The reported "suicide" and then "accidental death" of noted Harvard biophysics scientist and anthrax, Ebola, AIDS, herpes and influenza expert, Dr. Don C. Wiley, on the Interstate 55 Hernando De Soto Bridge that links Memphis to West Memphis, Arkansas, was probably a well-planned murder, according to local law enforcement officials in Tennessee and Arkansas...."

And get this...shades of Ivins...

"...according to U.S. intelligence sources, Wiley may have been the victim of an intelligence agency hit. That jibes with local police comments that the FBI and 'other' U.S. agencies stepped in to prevent the local Memphis police from taking a closer look into the case. Employees of St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital in Memphis, on whose board Wiley served, were suddenly deluged with unsubstantiated rumors that Wiley was a heavy drinker and despondent.

"It is a classic intelligence agency ploy to spread disinformation about 'suicide' victims after their murders. The favorite rumors spread include those about purported alcoholism, depression, homosexuality, auto-erotic asphyxia, drug addiction and an obsession with pornography, especially child pornography.

"According to the local police, it would have been easy to determine if Wiley was a heavy drinker and that would have shown up in his autopsy. The police also reckon that if Wiley left the Peabody under the influence, four hours later he should have been sober enough not to have fallen over the side of the bridge. Also, the bridge railing is high enough that even the 6' 3" Wiley could not have accidentally fallen over it without assistance. Add that to the fact that no one in the history of the bridge had fallen over the side...."

---

With Ivins, it was "homicidal" tendencies!

---

In discussing why Wiley may have been killed, Madsen writes...

"The South African media has been abuzz with details of that nation's former biological warfare program and its links to the CIA. The South African bio-chemical war program was code-named Project Coast and was centered at the Roodeplat Research Laboratories north of Pretoria. The lab maintained links to the US biowarfare facility at Fort (Detrick) and Britain's Porton Down Laboratory. The head of the South African program, Dr. Wouter Basson, was reportedly offered a job with the CIA in the United States after the fall of the apartheid regime. According to former South African National Intelligence Agency Deputy Director Michael Kennedy, when Basson refused the offer, the CIA allegedly threatened to kill him. Nevertheless, the U.S. pressured the new President, Nelson Mandela, to turn over the records and fruits of Basson's work. Much of this work was reportedly transported to Fort Detrick."

(snip)

"One of the South African's secret projects involved sending anthrax through the mail. Among the techniques that fell into the hands of the Americans was a method by which anthrax spores were, with deadly effect, incorporated on to the gummed flaps of envelopes."

The timeframe coincides with Kelly's tenure at Porton Down.

This site has an Anthrax timeline from early Oct 01 to May 02--very informative!

10. Oh man. And Dr. Kelly's name has been on my mind during this anthrax mess.
The fact that he might have been remotely related to the anthrax story is quite intriguing.

He didn't commit suicide. And neither did Dr. Ivins.

In Russia they used Plutonium. Man, this is total insanity. I wish the rest of the country would pay even a fraction of the attention we do on this forum.

12. I think Bruce Ivins did commit suicide. They were basically torturing him
-- attacking his family, his support system. He was facing retirement into the bargain when that lab had been his life. Too much going on and none of it good. But, I do tend to believe that he was helped on his way by these bastards.

17. Agreed.
But he would most likely be alive if it weren't for that hounding they gave him. It could even be the case with Kelley.

I think it's the same way with the last elections. A thin line. That's how they work. Just inside/outside the law.

We're on overload. I know I am. What a test.

13. This Thread Reeks of TRUTH
and reveals how lame, childish, and amateur the whole FBI coverup investigation is.

I'm surprised the FBI isn't leaking like a sieve, the way the CIA did, from the injustice and perversion forced upon it. Perhaps in a few months, it will break.

15. and the FBI/Mukasey would have the Media believe that it was done in a few hours,
by one scientist doing a little overtime at the office.

And the Media is running with it...odd?
