...a snapshot of Ralph campaigning in...Canada...where they can't vote for him...yeah...

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=718932

(snip)

After his speech, Mr. Nader called upon Matthew Zawisky, a 28-year-old supporter, to solicit funds. In a bit of barnstorming, Mr. Zawisky asked if an American in the audience would donate $4,600 -- the maximum amount a U. S. citizen can contribute to presidential campaigns under their country's law.

In exchange for the tiptop gift, Mr. Zawisky said the donor would receive a copy of Mr. Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed.

When nobody stepped forward, Mr. Zawisky dropped his request to $2,300, then $1,000 and finally $500. As the dollar amounts fell lower and lower -- and an uncomfortable silence settled in--Canadians in the crowd began to ask if they could contribute. Mr. Zawisky said donations could only come from Americans. Someone then suggested the crowd give their money to a U. S. citizen, who could then donate it.

...that's all I can stand to post...read the rest at your peril...

4. Hey, I collected signatures for him in 2000.
In Massachusetts, mind you, which I knew Gore would win by something like five trillion points, which he did.

Yeah. Stupid is as stupid stupidly did back then.

In my defense, he was actually coherent back then. Seriously. Remember?

I don't. Remind me. ;)

5. Yeah, I handed out stickers and made phone calls
Gore had a lock on Oregon, too.

I protested Gore's rally with the Greens and the Socialists.

Attended a rally of 12,000 fellow freaks.

He WAS coherent at the time. Either you are not crazy or we both are.

6. You made *phone calls*?

So...how are you handling that whole Florida-was-all-your-fault thing?

I'm surprised you didn't flee the country. You should be living in sin with Steve Bartman and Amelia Earhardt in some shanty Paris hovel. On the other hand, Bartman seems like kind of a douchebag, and Amelia...well, hard for her to pay her share of the rent, seeing how she's totally dead and stuff. Mmmmmm...bones...

Still...your fault. Phone calls? Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, what were you thinking?

7. I know two Floridians who voted for Nader in 2000
I STILL won't let them forget that it is all their fault we ended up with Bush.:banghead:

If I thought they were going to repeat that idiocy this year, I would beat them to death before the election.

11. Exactly! That Must Be Our Cue To Beat Up On Nader
Forget about McCain. Nader's the one we have to go after. Let's repeat Kerry's 2004 strategy. And didn't that work out just fine!

Kerry spent millions of bucks and used a lot of human resources to go after Nader and to stop people from voting for him (ballot challenges).

If those resources had been used against Bush, Kerry would have won the election.

Obama's smarter than Kerry and his crack "defeat Nader at all costs" campaign crew.

He's leaving Nader alone (no expensive character assassination campaigns and ballot challenges) so he's has a much better chance of winning than John Kerry.

Plus Obama's seen the polls that indicate he does better against McCain with Ralph Nader on the ballot!

12. Easy, killer...humor is good for the soul...
Plus, nobody has to worry about Ralph. He's campaigning from Canada, like VanLandingham in 1864. Hope he's a Bill's fan.

;)

(and no, the VanLandingham reference was not an attempt to label Ralph a traitor)

9. Oh My...how low can Nader go he's offering "Unsafe at Any Speed" to an audience
who could give a shit...because that's so long ago.

Sad...if he was a drunk he'd be what we call...on the rocks. Instead this once great CRUSADER for "CONSUMER RIGHTS" is forced to hawk a book that's so out of date it's laughable he'd even think that anyone would buy it.

I got rid of my Ford Pinto years ago. Thankfully, I didn't burn up in it...but then that's OLD NEWS...and that's the problem with Nader's endless grandstanding. It's not even believable, anymore...:-(
