WTF! :wtf:

This was just on CNN. Apparently the Humvees were waiting at the port for the Americans to come and pick them up.

2. I think we need to realize that when dealing with the Russians...
...we're not dicking around with some third-world, rag-tag gang of thugs.

18. Not only that, they absolutely have not lost their glee at
frustrating and humiliating the United States and our allies. It's almost as if they live for it.

3. Update: Russians take 5 armored Humvees from the US military
The Humvees were waiting at the port to be shipped. Now the Russians have them. Do you know what they will do with them?

"Another senior Russian military official, Colonel Igor Konashenkov, said the Russians would destroy all weapons and ammunition that they seized during their operation in Georgia but would take all tanks and armored vehicles that they find in good condition. Among the seized arms are 2,000 small arms and 65 tanks, of which 44 were in "excellent condition," he said, according to Interfax."

the Russians were forced to abandon the Georgian adventure.

10. Ah-ha! Now we see the benefits of having oil men running our strategy!
Clearly the plan is to burden the Russians with high gasoline costs! I suspect the Navy is delivering powerboats and sea-doos for the Russians as we speak!

14. Humvees aren't the only things they're stealing.
Russians enter Gori, to "secure" it.

WSJ: August 14,

"'The Russians are looting everything in sight. The whole city is full of marauders,' said Roland Bochiashvili. Russian soldiers stood by as irregulars held a Sky TV crew at gunpoint and took their car and equipment. A group of Polish journalists also had their car and equipment stolen. . .

Gen. Borisov said the precipitous Georgian retreat from the city created a law and order problem here. Russian forces, he explained, had to intervene because Georgian troops 'just ran away' and left behind 'thousands of American-made assault rifles" and dozens of tanks."

I wonder what they're going to do with all those American weapons?

Lucky for us the Talibs and AQ hate Vlad as much as they hate us. Otherwise I could see all those guns magically appearing in Pakistan.

Finally, something goes right.

19. If I were the Russians, I'd scrap anything that was an M16. They jam too easily and need much care.
An AK-47 is far more robust in comparison in terms of not jamming and maintenance.

22. The problems that came with the Johnsons administration
intoduction of the M16 have been pretty well corrected over the 40 years that the weapon has been in American service.

23. They still jam more frequently than the AK and require still more maintenance.
Wouldn't make sense for the Russians to keep them if found.
