Where have the simple hand shakes gone?
It used to be that when two adults met they would shake hands.

Then women entered into the business and political world, and all of a sudden instead of a hand shake between a man and a woman there would be a peck on the cheek.

I did not watch the Hallelujah affair in Orange County the other day, just caught an image of Obama and McCain shaking hands and... hugging each other.

What was that all about?

2. Not everyone is touchy feely
and I don't think it belongs in the business and political world.

Remember when Bush was trying to squeeze the German Chancellor's neck and the way she jumped?

And Harry Reid talking with Pelosi while putting a very patronizing arm around her shoulders?

What if you choose to not show your affection in public? Are you expected to "accommodate" the other or to jump in distate the way Angela Merkel did?

And what where there are more than 6" difference in height?

3. The hug between men has replaced the handshake.
See it on The Sopranos and see it at the Olympics.

5. After these folks no longer were "in charge"

Kids used to have "manners" drilled into them in grade school, and their parents practiced the same manners..at least in public..

The 60's came along, and whole generation called "bullshit"..

never been the same, since
