This is the kind of case that gives the law, lawyers, judges, and plaintiffs a bad name. One dumbass crazy person with one dumbass, incompetent, lawyer. I hestitate to call him a plaintiff's attorney, because he failed to demonstrate the skills needed to win a civil case, any kind of civil case. He was an idiot and his client was and is a psycho from hell.

Yeah, the Osteens suck. But that doesn't make them liable for a crazy woman's hysteria, vindictiveness, greed, and compulsion for attention.

Soon after the plane's door was closed, the FBI says Victoria Osteen was removed following what Continental would call only a disturbance. The Osteens' spokesman confirms it involved a flight attendant, but that's all. However, one passenger tells Eyewitness News she was alerted to the front of the plane when she heard a commotion.

"She violently ran towards the cockpit, scaring everyone around her," said passenger Knicky Van Slyke.

"Everyone was terrified about what was going on. And a bunch of flight attendants ran up and had to restrain her. She was banging on the door."

"Of the cockpit?" we asked.

"Yes."

On the other hand, the nearby passengers who DID testify -- including one called by the plaintiff's attorney -- supported Osteen.

Of all the witnesses called, including several who worked for the airline and were on the airplane, all but one refuted the plaintiff's lies. Only one person backed her up. Not a single passenger backed her up.

She was asked to do her job, and she got mad about it because I'm sure Mrs. Osteen was snitty about it.

The pilot testified that he did not have the Osteens get off the plane, that they chose to get off because the plaintiff was being so much of a problem. In fact, the pilot faulted the plaintiff. Even one of the witnesses the plaintiff called refuted her story.

This is a matter of a liar, a psycho, who thought she could get something for nothing. Not only did she lose, but she will be required by Court Order to pay the Osteens court costs, which will likely be in the thousands of dollars.

I can guarantee you this crazy person will next try to get another lawyer to sue her lawyer for not winning. She's as nutty as squirrel turd.

It's here in Houston, and in addition to media, I have friends and colleagues who have been down to the courthouse to watch some of it.

FYI: Osteen's attorney is one of the best criminal attorneys, himself a former prosecutor, and he does well in civil cases, too. Rusty Hardin. The guy who was representing the plaintiff is not a good trial lawyer. He was way outgunned.

But on the evidence, there was simply no one who testified for the plaintiff except one co worker, another flight attendant, but another flight attendant, the pilot, and several passengers all said there was no shoving, no pushing, no hitting, and that all of that was entirely made up.

There was also testimony from a co worker of the plaintiff at the airline who told a similar story of how the plaintiff had done exactly the same thing to her several years ago. She testified that the plaintiff and she had a disagreement, and that plaintiff made up a story about her hitting the plaintiff, and tried to get her fired.

The jury barely had time to go back, read the court's charge, and vote. They were back out in maybe an hour. That means the jury had no doubt they would reject the plaintiff's claim. Quick verdicts almost always mean the plaintiff loses in civil cases. It takes time for a jury to figure out how much money they will give a plaintiff, IF they decide they're going to find liability and pick a number.

I can't stand the Osteens, but this case never passed the smell test. Victoria Osteen is a terrible person, totally full of herself, but there she was not guilty of anything more than being a first class passenger who was behaving arrogantly.

and anyone who has had a bad picture taken of them would probably agree with me on that. this picture depicts a moment in time when the photographer caught the subject in a series of moments that has now become one out of context and in no way reflects what was actually happening. you can make anyone look like crap with a picture like that...and most people can be made to look like angels in a picture as well...whether they are or are not!
