3. I get a knot in my stomach
everytime I see such maps. We are right there on the lower east/west boundary of Mississippi and Louisiana.

14. I could do the prep work in my sleep but
its still a scary situation. Whenever I see a storm tracking map I hear the sound track to Jaws. And storms with heavy winds make me very nervous.

6. Hopefully it will go fishing.
http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200892_model.html

If it takes the more westerly track in the above link, it will be over a lot of islands, rather than open water, so hopefully that will keep it from getting too strong.

13. That photo had me wondering as to whether two hurricanes
have ever been created out of one tropical storm? For some reason this looks like it could split to my layman's eyes.

Thanks for the thread, Virginia Dare.

19. The models are virtually useless until the storm establishes a low level center
Without that they'll be all over the place, as we've seen.

Recon has been out looking again this afternoon so we might have a center fix with the 5pm update.

23. It is all over the TV now
I live in the Keys so I get the Miami channels...they love this shit.

Run for the hills! Buy canned food! Get bottled water! Evacuate! Stay tuned in!

25. Ha! LOL
Yeah, we live in Orlando so I can kinda empathize. Hope you don't need to use those evacuation routes.

And remember, don't panic!

22. As long as it's only a Tropical Storm or a Category 1 Hurricane
We can always use the rain.

I don't board the windows unless it's a Category 2 or higher.
