No embedding needed with them or nothing. The Russian soldiers walk right past the media and don't air them out.

Wonder why so many reporters get shot and killed when the US military is involved?

4. Russia is fighting Georgia, and vice versa; in Iraq the enemy wasn't a state.
Both Russia and Georgia have a vested interest in not killing journalists.

The Iraqi insurgents had/have far fewer qualms about this.

They held a seat at the United Nations.

What qualifies as a state?

8. Sorry, I wasn't thinking back that far.
Yes, you're right, originally the enemy was a state (although, again, one that didn't give a damn about killing journalists). But that part of the conflict was very short, and far less bloody than the ongoing insurgency.

9. Yea its been a long time hasn't it?
Wouldn't surprise me if it was former Iraqi soldiers or their kin who are still killing our soldiers either.

After all the Iraqis never surrendered. Bush said "Mission Accomplished" and moved his puppets into the Green Zone but there was never any formal peace agreement so I don't think that counts.

5. I don't think M$M has a clue how much they're exposing themselves
this time. Those who can't see the hypocrisy are beyond delusional.

7. Not much to compare when the Russian one has only been going on a few days...
compared to the years the US has spent occupying Iraq.
