I always ask them "how much did waging war on Iraq lower your fuel costs"?

8. 33% is. We won't be getting 33% more by drilling. n/t

20. Not really
We export virtually no crude oil.

We do refine crude and export products, primarily distillate fuel oil, residual fuel oil, and petroleum coke. Those were about 1.4 million barrels a day. We produce about 5 million barrels a day and import around 10 million, so around 10% gets exported, but no crude.

That doesn't refute the fact that drilling will have little to no impact on price.

9. I saw that sticker right next to one that said "Who is the real Barack Obama?"
With pictures of him in a turban holding a gun.

I hope the driver enjoyed looking at my middle finger.

Racist prick.

12. Not necessarily...
I have a bumper sticker my mother-in-law gave me with almost exactly the same phrasing, and a picture, which is key. "Homeland Security: Fighting Terrorism Since 1492," with a picture of Native Americans holding guns.

13. It wasn't that logo, though. I think it was made in response with the reverse
idea in mind. I think there were U.S. Cavalry guys on it.. Not sure. Only got a real quick look, but it wasn't the one you were thinking of.

14. They're printing it out en masse...
I can only assume this is being done by an arm of the McCain campaign, in an attempt to short-circuit the facts on how drilling would have no effect on prices by simply turning it into an easily-chanted slogan.

And, you know what? It'll probably work. :-( Most people don't like putting in the effort to think, and will be endlessly grateful to anyone who will spare them the necessity of doing so.

In any event, is it any surprise that every vehicle I've seen carrying it also has the required "Support Our Troops" yellow ribbon magnet?

http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKN0325640920080703

" WASHINGTON, July 3 (Reuters) - While the U.S. oil industry wants access to more federal lands to help reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, American-based companies are shipping record amounts of gasoline and diesel fuel to other countries.

A record 1.6 million barrels a day in U.S. refined petroleum products were exported during the first four months of this year, up 33 percent from 1.2 million barrels a day over the same period in 2007. Shipments this February topped 1.8 million barrels a day for the first time during any month, according to final numbers from the Energy Department."

22. He means drill his gas tank..
It's about impossible to siphon gas any more, it's much easier to find a big ass SUV (lots of room underneath), drill the tank with cordless drill and drain it into a few five gallon buckets.

I take junk cars to the scrap metal recycling sometimes and they demand a hole be drilled in the tank, I guess they don't want twenty gallons of gas exploding in the crusher.

26. Here's the site that comes from . . .
I can't believe my wingnut friend sent me this knowing how I feel about Newtjob:

http://www.americansolutions.com/actioncenter/petitions/?Guid=54ec6e43-75a8-445b-aa7b-346a1e096659

Ever notice that the right wingers from Gingrich to Pickens are starting to hone in on the whole "green" and "alternative energy" thing? News flash, dolts. You can't own the sun or the wind, food for fuel is a shit short-term idea, as is the hydrogen cell and no one trusts you due to the fact that you're in the pockets of Big Oil and Cheney, Inc.
