British in Parliament debating Iraq War
Amazing, how honestly they speak about the consequences of the Iraq war. I heard them say that Turkey was saying they might go in??

Our House is starting to be more honest like this.

Good debate going on.

1. Blair's skipping the debate.
A calculated insult to the entire affair. So let's not put too much stock in it.

2. You know why it's a good debate?
Most party-line New Labour MPs aren't there. They seemingly get their talking points faxed straight over from the RNC

3. Menzies Campbell said the purpose of the US
was always regime change, and that they would never have gone along, as it was illegal.

Many people see Bush as a war criminal.

6. Well, his first name is pronounced "Ming"
Hence the nickname "Ming The Merciless" which I shorten down to "The Merciless One"

10. "without the happy ending" indeed... Sacrifice, anyone?
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 02:09 PM by Amonester
"...see if I am as right about this as I was about Iraq four years ago. If a finger is raised against Iran by Israel or the United States, the first people to pay the price will be the 7,000 young men and women of the British armed forces that we have stationed in the south of Iraq, where Iran, thanks to us, is now top dog. If Members want to know what that will look like, think about the film "Zulu", but without the happy ending. That is how irresponsible our Government are. They are part of an axis that is contemplating a war against a country that we have made powerful in a place where we have our soldiers standing in a thin red line in the sand.

For the moment, the trial of Tony Blair merely takes place on Channel 4 television. The day will come, and it is coming soon, when a real trial of Tony Blair will take place in a real court."

At last, one George I agree with...

Ed. = closing"
