McCain's ad - A sea filled with oil rigs in red light - backfires
The most intense visual on the Celebrity ad is the sea of oil rigs bathed in red light at the end. It emphasizes global warming and continued dependence on fossil fuels with the environment being put on the back burner (on high too)

Frankly it strikes me as very "old school" and "big oil" friendly.

Most of America sees it that way too.

Here is a counter:

McCain pictured over his own images of onshore oil rigs...long and slow with heat waves distorting the image.

"McCain's energy policy puts the environment on the back burner and turns up the heat on America."

1. I really believe the McCain media people aren't very bright.
Did they really think an image of a glowing off shore oil rig is something Americans want?

McCain: Hideously ugly industrial structures as far as the eye can see. Screw nature! USA! USA!

5. I think they're pretty cool.
There's a huge one on I-70 between Denver and my home town. Just almost surreal.

6. I could see an Obama Ad....
It would show a beach, full of people, playing.

as it pans from the lighthouse station towards the water line, it fades out and into a new beach, no one on the beach, and oil spills lapping the shore, in the distance, over the water, an off-shore oil platform....

and the caption: McCain and the Oilmen, the new beach blanket volleyball.
