4. So I converted all my light bulbs to CFL's, saving tons of coal and
put in a tankless water heater . . . no more heating water 24/7 to use it 25 minutes a day. Not only that, the pilot is lit not by electricity, but by power generated from the water flowing through it. If everyone switched to tankless water heaters, worldwide, think of the savings. It is insane when you think about millions and millions of gallons of water constantly being heated 24/7 for a few minutes use every day. I'd like to see an estimate of the energy wasted there!

5. All my power comes from wind and small hydro
as far as I know. I pay extra to the power company for power delivery from renewable sources.

6. Mine runs on hydro.

OTOH, China probably used more than half a tonne to build it and ship it here.

12. True and it's prettier.

Wish I could take some credit, but that's all we've got around here. Lots and lots of water running down steep mountains.

13. The footprint is possible
You are educated and informed enough, you do look at the environmental/energy forum
on DU right? How fair was the 'TV" show on climate change?

I don't get that channel, it costs extra, however I've found the discovery channel
which owns the science channel has some major issues to push for their advertisers
and handlers? Sometimes they are good, depending on the producer.

It sounds like it was informative, but why did they pick on the computer
where we get our information vs a coffee machine that takes much more energy
if you leave it on all day?
