Zell Miller Blames Troop Shortages, Illegal Immigration, On Abortion
Edited on Fri Mar-09-07 01:14 PM by Mr. Ected
It hasn’t gotten widespread play yet, but former U.S. Sen. Zell Miller made a little news this week in Macon when he declared that abortion has contributed to the military’s manpower shortage, the Social Security crisis, and the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.

“How could this great land of plenty produce too few people in the last 30 years? Here is the brutal truth that no one dares to mention: We’re too few because too many of our babies have been killed,” Miller said.

And to think this man STILL claims himself to be a Democrat. Georgia, you're a laughingstock for SO many reasons....

2. Slow down tough guy ...
the OP's just letting us know what's Miller said. Maybe you don't give a fuck, but maybe, just maybe, somebody else would.

6. That old man is really past it.
Edited on Fri Mar-09-07 01:23 PM by GreenZoneLT
Here's his whole abortion turnaround in a nutshell: I had a grandkid (or possibly great grandkid, and a difficult pregnancy or preemie birth may have been involved), and it made me really happy. Therefore, all babies are a blessing, and I'm no longer pro-choice.

His brain doesn't work so good as it used to. Happens to all of us eventually.

He didn't make any of that "abortion hurts America" stuff up, btw. That's standard boilerplate from Georgia Right to Life. He's their new poster boy.

7. I like this post because of the purpose it serves, which is to remind me that
Zell spoke at the Clinton nomination convention against Poppy Bush and spoke elegantly for the blue team, and now years later sold his soul to the FOX devil via Rove or someone even worse, and that in the blur of everything else and before his betrayal, Miller could have been a contender for the vice presidency in 04 or 08. A southern Democratic governor from Georgia would have enjoyed wide support. Clinton only beat Dole in Georgia by I think 700,000 votes -- something like that.

But instead we hear Zell the blowhard, Zell the psycho conservative, Zell the "Git-Out-of-My-Face" Yahoo, Zell the betrayer.

A wasted chance.

20. Yep. And he earns that nickname, too. On some of those
interviews during the fall of 2004 prior to the November election, Miller sounded like Jed Clampet on Angel Dust. Angry, severe, scorched-earth comments about Democrats. Really negative stuff.

14. No telling who the original author is.
All the Georgia Right to Life shills in the Georgia Lege have been parroting that weird story line for at least the last two years. I covered them for a newspaper in '05 and '06, and all the reporters would just roll our eyes at each other when some nut would bring that up in an immigration debate.

Actually, I think one of the AP guys actually said, "What? WHAT? Did she say what I think she just said?" the first time he heard Nancy Shaeffer or some other idiot spout that.

Zell has been hanging around with a toxically stupid crowd lately.

15. His "logic" is valid only if you think of people in terms of
cannon fodder and worker, that is human resources, rather than, say, human beings or people.

Point that out, lots, loudly and with conviction. I'm a human - not someone's resource to be exploited for their convenience.

16. What an idiot, in the process he is admitting we need the illegal
immigrants, so we may as well legalize them, and why are they less desirable people anyway? Oh, I guess because they aren't lily white.

I can understand people being against abortion due to there being a separate genetic life, but I really hate it when people are against it for these nativistic and racist, xenophobic reasons.

This is how Miller supports the troops, huh? Making it abundantly clear that we just need more people we can send into the breach and come back in a box. What a patriot! Duh!

and moreover, we wouldn't have a troop shortage if people who supported Bush and this war actually went to fight in it!

27. You See, In Zell's World
More babies means more Americans means more American workers means less Mexican illegal immigrants.

As if illegal immigrants waited for a job opening before jumping the border.

28. yeah, no kidding. Like they wouldn't come if they knew we were full
which still goes back to what I said. After all, if we could afford to have all these millions of aborted babies living in the US as citizens, why are we too crowded for immgrants? Its interesting...

25. Actually, the military's manpower shortage can be directly attributable
to cowardly Repukes ... afraid to be in a foxhole with someone who might be checking out his ass ...

The righties would rather have a straight guy who couldn't hit the ground if he dropped his rifle than a gay guy who could hit targets with 99 percent accuracy ... I guess that a homophobe really should be afraid of a gay with a firearm ...

When bullets are flying and bombs are going off, it's only logical to assume gay people are checking out someone's butt, rather than worrying about staying alive!
