yet the 2006 election indicated Iraq was the major issue, in spite of the fact that both mccain and giuliani support this war.

I must conclude that the people in this country are the STUPIDIST people in the world

yes, 3100 plus Americans have died in Iraq, but THEY VOLUNTEERED, the 600000 dead Iraqiis DID NOT ASK FOR THIS WAR!!!

The right, and I suspect at least 50% of the country believe we are a christian country.

I say BULLSHIT!!!

1. I conclude that it's 20 months before the next Presidential election
and that the polls today have no bearing on what the voters in Nov of '08 will be saying.

You know we still have to hold the actual elections. I know polling is great and everybody reads the polls, but polls are not votes. Polls are no substitute for going out into the field and stumping for votes. They are no substitute for being vetted by the press, having every aspect of your life dug into and explored in public and no substitute for seeing who can take that pressure and who cracks.

I don't actually give a damn what the polls say today. It don't mean much yet. The fight if ahead of us, not in some polling snapshot that will be worthless next week.

4. I essentially agree with you about the polls, but the media spin is out of control

6. The media is fickle as we all know
The spin today will not be the spin tomorrow, next month or even in 3 months. There is so much time left that there is plenty of time for this race, on both sides, to be upended over and over again.

Think about Guiliani for a second. He looks good now, but think about all the stuff that has yet to get under the skin of most Americans about him. There is a lot of stuff there that won't sit well with the voters.

Give it time.

2. "The polls" and the corporate media are owned by liars and criminals.
Don't believe the hype. The revolution will not be televised, so to speak.

3. I've seen polls that say Edwards AND HRC beat both of them
Edited on Fri Mar-09-07 12:28 PM by n2doc
In any case I suspect neither McCain or Guiliani will be the GOP candidate. McCain is already in serious trouble, and Guiliani is behind Romney in the conservative community. When a Mormon leads your "christian" party's choices you know the other choices are going down. I strongly believe we haven't seen the real republican nominee enter the ring yet.

5. Even though I was not happy with Edwards IWR vote, the more I hear from him
the more I like. Not only did he admit his error in judgement in voting for that, but he seems to address the issues directly as oppossed to the other candidates

Right now my bias is with Obama, but I would have no problem with Edwards.
