**sigh** When will these politicians learn to stop thinking with their penis
Sorry, I am just very disappointed in John Edwards. This man had a bright future and tossed it all away because he used his damn penis as his brains and not his head. Do any of these politicans on either side of the politican spectrum ever think of the fact that when you cheat or your spouse with someone that you basically put out there someone who now officially has blackmail & National Enquirer gossip to hold over your head for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.

And what's worse is this is going to be played out in the Media big time. Sure, perhaps doing a news dump of this story on a Friday Afternoon on the day the Olympics start might bury it some but remember that the media is not fair and balanced and will be a constant news story. I really just hope that this does not play poorly against Barack Obama because trust me, IT WILL BE SPUN THAT WAY.

1. Explain to me how this will play against Obama. Serious question. Because I don't see it.

4. People here think Obama is a fawn in the woods and easily hurt by anything.
He's not. He's succeeded in Chicago.

5. The repukes will link it to the whole "summer of love" meme
that they floated a short while back. This scenario, they will say, is an indicator of 'loose values' among the dems. At least that's an interpretation David Bender threw out there. I think he's probably right.

14. You know on paper you're absolutely right
But when it comes to News Networks like Faux News - they can link any two totally unrelated items and make them totally connected and keep it in the news forever.

2. If women were the dominant gender
Then politicians would have to quit thinking with their vaginas. We are all human.

7. Yes, but we're all not running for a job where you...
should not make yourself vulnerable to blackmail. Bill Clinton is very lucky Lewinsky didn't blackmail him for a better job.

People in high security positions need to be v e r y careful.

As for women, in the 1930s both Eleanor Roosevelt and Clementine Churchill had relationships with men other than their husbands. Both husbands knew, so there was no blackmail potential. If J. Edgar had threatened ER she would have said, "go ahead" and dialed the phone for him.

The high test, Type A folks that get in the White House or run for it live in a different world and have pressures unique to that status.

But a president can't do things to be vulnerable to blackmail.

3. Um, never.
What's that line Kissinger uses? "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac." There's always going to be someone that wants to have sex or a relationship with someone in power, and there's a 50/50 chance that person in power is more than willing to exploit their position or notoriety, or just give in to temptation.

13. There are plenty of women who flock to power. And powerful men who exploit it sexually.
That's the way of the world and it ain't never gonna change.

Did you really think beforehand that YOU could keep it a secret? :spank:

10. Let's see . . . when will (people) stop thinking about and acting on sexual urges . . .
That would be never. Look at history. Look at your family and acquaintances. Look in your own heart.

I still maintain the only response when one finds oneself in this position is to say to the public "none of your business" and to your family "I'm sorry. Can we find a way to forgiveness?"

12. God gave us two heads...
...and only enough blood to run one at a time.

It took over a year before I stopped sleeping with my (cheating, lying) ex. Men are stupid and impulsive and horny, a bad combination.

15. Sure it will be played out, over & over & over again. And maybe it should be...
Maybe we need to grow the hell up. We're always playing not to the cheap seats; but the elitist, esoteric, cliquey seats. Only we know what is right & wrong. We're the only ones that understand. The only ones allowed to frame the shit we shit on our own living carpets into gossipy little trifles. Balderdash! We're in for a penny? Then we're in for a pound. The course, many already finding it less than recognizable as bought into, has already been laid in. The amorphous nature of the course itself has rend it tenuous and subject to derision. If a gossipy little trifle will pull your ship off course. The narcissism of a man's penis will fold your sails. Believe it!

As we heard this awful news my heart went out to Elizabeth. The image of him gliding cross the stage smiling and waving all teethy all winky giving the thumbs up, blown dry hair just so, too pretty for cameras, and lying through his teeth made me ill. No...

These are not gossipy little trifles, as though fallen leaves on a summer breeze. These are they what sway the populace M$M or no M$M, they lend aid & comfort to the opposition. And if now gossip is thought the better within such a template then I say gak it down like turned buttermilk. Cause it will effect the engagement of a laundry list deathly chaotic republican matters that need to be taken head-on, nose to nose. And so wasteful of Obama's valuable time remaining.

It's a sadness for their entire family. John Edwards should have known better.

16. When will the American public care more about a policy than a penis.
That's the real question.

Honestly, this must be the only bass ackwards, retrograde, nanny on skates Western society that thinks it should have some kind of control over the sex lives of its political leaders.
