Does Maryland have a "Castle law?"
Remember that guy in TX who shot and killed two illegals who, he said, were trying to break into his neighbor's home? And he was recently acquitted.

I am thinking about that mayor, whose house was broken by police force with "no knock warrants." They killed his two dogs and hand cuffed him and his mother in law. He said that he thought it was a house breakup. So what would have happened had he grabbed a shotgun and blasted one of these police officer's head?

Would he then be on trial for killing a law enforcement officer? I suspect that such a "crime" would make it a capital offense.

I have to admit that this story has really been bothering me. How can I be sure that such a package is not being shipped to my address? I think that if I will ever see a package on the front porch from an unknown address, I will take it straight to the local police, let them open it.

1. Something is odd about the story.
It's been covered here as a lead story.

I just don't get why the cops were blowing through the door of a mayor (it's not detroit). Even in Bridgeport, CT where I knew Joe Ganim, nothing like that happened. Just really odd.

Seems to me like a set-up of some sort.

5. And the police still will not offer an apology or saying they did anything wrong
a spokeswoman just said that they "have problems with drugs..."

3. if
He had grabbed a weapon of any sort to protect himself he would be dead now and we would be reading quite a different story about this fiasco.

4. I don't know. While they were busy killing the dogs
and, I think, he went upstairs to shower, he could have shot from above?
