"A man is basically as faithful as his options." - Chris Rock - EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING
WARNING FOR THE PURITANS AND PRUDES, the YouTube Video contains explicit language.. don't go there if you don't want to hear something that offends and don't complain to me because I warned you ahead of time:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmLSvtpmT3M&feature=related

"See, people...

everybody expects this holy behavior
'cause he's the President.

Expect him to behave this holy way.

He's just the President.
He ain't Rev. Clinton.

lt ain't Pastor Clinton.
lt ain't Maharajah Clinton.

lt is just Bill Clinton.
He's just a man. A man's gonna be a man.

A man is basically as faithful as his options.

That's how faithful a man is,
no more, no less."

....

lt's damn near impossible
for a man to turn down sex.

"lt's hard for a man to turn down sex.

We can stop chasing it,
and even that requires some rehab.

But it's hard for a man to stop.

lf it chase us, we can't run that fast.

lt's gonna catch us, we're like:

''Shit, pulled a hamstring. You got me.''

You can't run that fast."

Chris Rock from the HBO Comedy Special Bigger and Blacker..

I thought it has a lot of common sense that the media hysteria totally lacks.

4. Chris Rock is a comedian.
Taken any farther than a laugh, this is the kind of attitude that gets women soldiers and contractors raped and killed in Iraq.

20. How about this:
Since lt's damn near impossible
for a man to turn down sex.

"Now, I'm not going to initiate a gang rape,
but if I just happen to walk in on one
I wouldn't be fair to expect me to control my urges.

When opportunity presents itself, after all.."

Would this be a reasonable defense? Taking Mr. Rock's statements to their logical conclusions, we would have to believe a man in that situation would be helpless and incapable of controlling his penis.

...It's about using sex as a weapon for assault.

Apples and oranges...

5. "it's hard for a man to turn down sex" - Ohhh poor babies...just CAN'T control themselves..
...

NOPE.

I don't buy it.

YES.

THEY.

CAN.

They don't want to but they can. They'd rather control WOMEN instead of themselves.

It has always been thus.

I don't buy the "men just can't control themselves" meme. Piss poor excuse for bad behavior and piss poor excuse to avoid taking responsibility for THEIR ACTIONS.

7. Women cheat too... get real...
I saw something tonight that said as much as a third of women cheat on their husbands at least once.

So it's not just the boys who play. Girls play too.

18. unwillingness to take responsibility for their own behavior, 'can't control themselves'...and ....
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 12:52 AM by Triana
..that sense of ENTITLEMENT to sex with women.

Yep. All that. I agree.

Have a gander at "askmen.com" - that site is CHOCK FULL of shit on how men can cheat on their women and get away with it (supposedly) - and simultaneously, how to KEEP THEIR WOMEN from cheating on THEM. Double-standard duJour! The message is: It's OK for men to cheat! We're ENTITLED! It's our NATURE! Ohhh. We just can't HELP it - we're just helpless out-of-control men! But if a WOMAN CHEATS - now THAT ain't allowed!

And that is the attitude that begets this behavior and society gives it a free pass as if it's acceptable for men to cheat - expected even - and that they "can't help it", "can't control themselves", and are even ENTITLED to do it. BULL!

Those attitudes are just an excuse for men to avoid taking responsibility - and accepting the consequences - for their own sexual behavior.

10. Yes, women cheat too. But if it's not your woman, who cares?
This is BS that we should be outraged by private behavior of people we will never even meet and behavior that has no chance in hell of affecting us personally.

If it ain't your relationship, butt out!

17. Women DO NOT use the excuse "well, women just HAVE to have sex, they can't control themselves"...
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 12:42 AM by Triana
...you always hear *that* coming from men. AS IF they just can't control their OWN behavior - they claim they can't. Furthermore, many men - MARRIED men especially but even single ones, seem to think they are ENTITLED to sex with women.

Guess what? They're NOT.

11. Funny! But... in real life, my parents have been married for 39 years...
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 11:40 PM by Political Heretic
I have a pretty close relationship with them as an only child, there are no secrets... both of them independently say that neither of them ever cheated on each other, and they are crazy in love today. I believe them, in part because they talk so openly about both the good and the bad times, when they thought they might stray or walk away, and what kept them together.

They are my inspiration.

13. I never really understood this argument...
I like Chris Rock, but I think he's exaggerating things for comic effect. I'm a man, and I've turned down sex quite a few times, yes, it can be difficult, but its possible, especially when it involves keeping yourself safe. The fact of the matter is that, as far as my own experience goes, men can control their urges just fine if they THINK before they act. The only exception possible is if some type of drug was involved that robbed them of common sense(alcohol, etc.)

Human beings aren't just instinct and hormone in a body, we also have a brain that thinks abstractly, and we use it to create concepts and to limit are instinctual behaviors when necessary. Some people lack this ability, of course, nothing is truly 100%, but it appears, at least, that most people can control their sexual urges, otherwise there would be orgies in the streets. Not saying that would be a bad thing, perhaps it would solve many of our social ills, but then again, maybe not as well. ;)

21. "A furious master"
"How well I remember the aged poet Sophocles, when in answer to the question, How does love suit with age, Sophocles,--are you still the man you were? Peace, he replied; most gladly have I escaped from a mad and furious master. His words have often occurred to my mind since, and they seem as good to me now as at the time when he uttered them. For certainly old age has a great sense of calm and freedom; when the passions relax their hold, then, as Sophocles says, we are freed from the grasp not of one mad master only, but many."
