Bush's popularity creeps up in poll
Bush creeps up from all-time low in poll
9th March 2007

Early March - his approval is up to 35%

US President George W Bush, in a bitter showdown with the Democrat-majority Congress over Iraq, has crept up a speck from an all-time low in his job approval rating. But his standing is the weakest of any second-term president at this point in 56 years.

9. You're Right. And You're Wrong
It is just noise, but. . . The sampling isn't the reason. This is one poll, on one day. The margin for error in this poll is +/-3%. So, a 35% could be a 32% the week before or week after and the number would be the same. That's not the standard deviation. It's the standard error. So, it takes both time and multiple datapoints to really develop an understanding.

He is just as unpopular as he was a month ago.

7. Bullshit. Give me the chance and I could have the bastard at
a 100% approval rating. Of course I'd have to talk to a lot of people that I really never want to communicate with during this lifetime or any other.

10. This is still within the 4% margin of error of the last poll.
So how is it moving up when one sampling is pretty much the same as the other?

13. You can't really look at one poll number. You have to look for a trend. Here's a Pollkatz graph:
