but.....how do we know that a conversation between him and Elizabeth about extramarital sex never happened? She may have suggested that he have sex with someone, because perhaps she is too cancer ridden to enjoy the act anymore. Or maybe, Elizabeth had an affair years ago and felt so much guilt that she pushed John into an affair to even the slate. I know these sound kinda ridiculous, but I've known people who have had strange relationships like this. My wife had an affair long ago and she cannot forgive herself for that even though I have. It haunts her every day. Sometimes I think she would like me to have a "quickie" so she could get over it. I can't.
