Narcissist Edwards... You're all surprised?
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 06:33 PM by republicansarewhores
I knew this when the story broke weeks ago in the Enquirer... and when he was more interested in pursuing the presidency then spending time with his dying wife, it told me everything I needed to know about his character that I didn't even have a second thought as to whether this was true or not... I KNEW IT. Even when my conservative mother was saying "it's the National Enquirer... they make everything up". Not.

He'll have people fuck around with the paternity test so it makes his "confession" to his wife okay since he's not gonna show up as the father. That's what these people do... he has no accountability and is more worried about trying to save face than admit the truth. He's focused more on damage control to his image than admitting more of the truth, as most NARCISSISTS do. If you don't know much about malignant narcissism, Google it, you'll understand a lot more about our political leaders than you will be comfortable facing.

This will eat up the news cycle long enough for the media whores though to associate it with his endorsement of Obama while ignoring the petition of 100,000 signatures delivered to the other political whore Nancy Pelosi by Dennis Kucinich demanding impeachment hearings... IF war crime tribunals are ever held, she should be indicted as an enabling co-conspirator to Bush's war crimes as well.

Kucinich: WE DID IT!

I don't worship sacred cows based on their party affiliation... I've never trusted Hillary Clinton and despite the good Bill did as president, he's a disappointment too these days with his childish sour grapes over Obama's presumptive nomination and both his and Hillary's sense of entitlement.

We ALL need to separate from the "Go Team" tribal mentality and call shitty people and behavior when we see it and admit these people are dangerous self-serving phonies unless they prove otherwise.

I'm hoping my gut instincts about Obama being a good man are true so that it doesn't cost us the presidency with Insane McCain.

3. I'd be interested in finding out the whole story before crucifying Edwards.....
There is a long family history with Edwards, this entire thing is horrible for them. The only reason he got into politics was because his dead son had shown remarkable interest in it. Edwards was never a perfect guy, but far from the evil man you portray.

16. He SHOULD be bashed!
Just because the MSM shouldn't be making it the huge deal that they are and just because they never seem to focus on the plentiful repubs who've also done the same thing does NOT make it right for him to do it! And when his wife is sick, too. And don't start that about her being sick AFTER the affair. She was first diagnosed before the affair; the diagnosis in 2007 was a recurrence.

11. Which is why he's still denying paternity
He still wants that one fig leaf of decency - that he wasn't having an affair during the Presidential campaign, after his wife was diagnosed w/terminal cancer. He's STILL lying. Which almost annoys me more than the affair itself. Does he think people are stupid?

He met the woman IN A BAR. She has subsequently been involved with another man. She obviously gets around.

What PROOF do you have that it's HIS child?

25. Proof
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 07:27 PM by Marie26
Well, let's see, he was meeting with her & the child in a hotel room at 2:00 am? Why would he meet her after the affair (supposedly) ended? Why was the baby there - that's not just a tryst, she brought the baby for him to see. Why would she do that if it was someone else's? Why would he want to see the baby? I got attacked for believing the story about his affair when it first came out, but now Edwards has come out & admitted what he so fervently denied a week ago. Why would you believe him now? As for the paternity test, I'll believe it when I see it. He might be "willing", but unless the mother files a paternity action, he doesn't have to do one. And she won't, because she's been helping him to cover it up.

37. Everything in your post is gossip as far as I'm concerned.
Several years ago it was "a known fact" that I was psychotic and violent toward children - according to a person in my community who wound up being declared a vexatious litigant in federal court after her lawsuit against me and forty others was thrown out as the fabrication of a habitual criminal and malingerer.

It also was "a known fact" that I had a cat with ringworm in my clinic as a mascot who I knew was a hazard to the public and didn't care that he ran around infecting everyone. Except, every single word of that one was an utter fabrication, too.

Gossip and innuendo and rumor and lies are not facts. I am skeptical, having been the victim TWICE of that sort of crap.

4. I totally agree. While I agreed with
Edwards politically, for the most part and with some exceptions, I never liked him and wasn't thrilled when Kerry chose him as his VP nominee; I honestly think Edwards may have cost Kerry the election. There was just something about him I didn't like and didn't trust. Now I know why. He's a lying, cheating, hypocritical, opportunistic slimebag SOB. Blasting Clinton in '99 and being against gay marriage because it was against "morality", and yet screwing another woman while his wife was ill with cancer and lying about it. I don't believe for a second the child isn't his, either.

That's not to say that I think this is all that important in the scheme of things, since he isn't a candidate for anything anymore and I never did think he was under serious consideration for the VP this time. It shouldn't be all over everything 24/7 to the exclusion of more important news, especially when the MSM ignores rampant repub infidelity as well. And it especially pisses me off that McCain's dumping his first wife, the one who'd stood by him while he was a guest in the Hanoi Hilton for seven years, because she had the gall to be seriously injured in a car accident and, thus, lose her "willowy" figure, and marrying that nutball Cindy barely a month after his divorce was final, is not even anywhere on the MSM radar when HE is an actual candidate. But that doesn't mean that I'm not thoroughly pissed and disgusted with Edwards and hope he disappears completely into the oblivion he so richly deserves.

27. WTF did he EVER do about health care when
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 07:30 PM by liberalhistorian
he was in the senate and had chances to do so? NOTHING. As usual. All talk and no real action. He could even well afford to give up his generous, luxurious federal health care plan, paid for by the tax dollars of the very people who often couldn't get or afford health care, and never even thought of it. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, a man of far lesser means, did just that, saying he wouldn't accept the health care plan until ALL Americans had access to such a plan, as both a congressman and now a senator.

All talk and no action. All phony and no substance. Is it any wonder he didn't help Kerry any and that he didn't get anywhere in the primaries? No one may be perfect, but a man who castigates Clinton in '99 over Monica and is against gay marriage because it's against his "morality", and who then fucks around on his wife WHILE SHE IS ILL WITH CANCER and then lies through his teeth about it is a hypocritical, opportunistic, lying slimeball. And I don't give a shit if you give me a fucking break or not.

Well it should equip you with the tools necessary to figure out who you can trust when you vote.

And you should probably TRY to vote for someone who has not completely exposed themselves as liars.

Yeah I know I'm gonna get the "they all lie"... but I'll tell you there are varying degrees of acceptable dishonesty in politics and this ranks at the top of UNACCEPTABLE dishonesty, because if he's gonna lie to his wife and supporters about something like this and play that he's someone special and moral when he's not, why would you ever trust this man to serve anyone else's interests but his own?

... also fits in with the "narcissistic" and "egocentric" way he acted at that time.

I think at one point they did get on well. But on his own, he changed. Whatever the reason for it, at that time he was probably acting selfish to most of those around him. If he hadn't blown off Kerry, Kerry probably would've told him to "bugger off, you're not acting like the man I was friends with".

This is an extra-marital affair. That's not exactly rare among politicians-- and Edwards is... what? Just a Senator. He's not the nominee for president. How many senators are having affairs?

If a Republican were exposed as having an affair, I'd have the same disinterested reaction, unless they'd portrayed themselves as some kind of family values moral crusader, of course. This just isn't news.

34. I agree - but the problem is that our society by in large doesnt
Society loves these scandals - just look at the wall to wall coverage while a major and potentially world-shattering conflict is building in Georgia. Sex sales, unfortunately, and the GOP makes most of their political capital by exploiting these private issues (especially if they lied about it). Affairs and such should never cross the mind of us when weighing our politicians - however, it did enter the political arena and he chose to lie boldface instead of dismissing it as a private matter or putting it into the open and cutting off the GOP's attack route on the issue. Look to Lt. Gov. David Patterson of New York for a prime example of how to handle these issues before they become a major problem for a politician and how to take marginalize the whole issue before the GOP can make hay with it. This is what Edwards should have done, but he chose to lie to all of us about it.

Edwards knew before he ran this year about his affair, yet he lied about it all during the campaign with a straight face. I have a major problem with that because it shows a lack of foresight on his part and lack of integrity once he started to spin the lies. I am glad he was not our nominee, although I voted for him in the primary in 2004 and was excited to have him as a VP candidate in 2004.

Kick em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!
