One thing I've noticed about the hardcore right wing is that they don't believe in moderation and/or non-partisanship. You're either with them all the way or you're a liberal. Notice how they won't call conservatives/Republicans who don't tow the party line moderates. Nope, they refer to them as liberals. Many of them even call John McCain a liberal! (We all know that's BS)
Going with this RW logic (oxymoron, I know), anybody or anything who is non-partisan wouldn't be towing a conservative or liberal line. But since they aren't towing the conservative line, they are seen by the right wing as liberals. Take the Supreme Court. Most of us know that Anthony Kennedy is considered a "swing vote" and probably the most truly non-partisan Justice on the bench. He has made rulings that made conservatives happy many times. But since it's not 100% of the time, not only is he a liberal in their eyes, but they also see him as an "liberal activist judge"! Conservative California Supreme Court judge Ronald George made ONE decision they didn't like..now he's on the "liberal activist" list too! If somebody tried to write a book or movie about this stuff, people would say it wasn't believable! Same thing with the media. If they are 100% non-partisan, they are liberals in the right wing's eyes. In order to not be the "liberal media", they would have to tow the conservative line at all times.
These people on the far right don't want non-partisan judges or a non-partisan media at all. They want conservative media and a conservative court that will never disagree with them on any issue. To do this, they are labeling the non-partisan as liberal so they can try to replace non-partisanship with hardcore conservatism. Hopefully, people will stop falling for this RW charade!
