Obama's not going to throw down until McC's the official candidate.

Why derail Mc*'s farcical campaign while there's an escape hatch -- like appointing a different candidate at their convention?

4. The Repugs are still trying to wrap THEIR heads
around the fact that he's their REAL candidate.

Crying all the way to the polling place, and then either holding their noses while they pull the lever, or just pulling the one marked Obama!

6. i have traveled from nj to ga and back.
i saw one mccain bumper sticker. do you remember how those bush stickers were everywhere. the rank and file aren't feeling john mccain. i wouldn't be surprised if they traded mccain in for a more viable candidate.

8. Doesn't even have to be viable
I think many of them would be happy if they dug up St. Ronnie, propped his corpse up at a lectern, and played tapes of his old speeches.

7. Isn't it great that we have to guess all the damn time
Rather than having just one candidate who just tells the truth and stands by what they believe in and does not continue changing their positions as if what is at stake is a damn game.

I'm sick of the the entire thing , all of these bought and paid for political candidates are nothing but liars.

9. Good analogy
McSame is throwing haymakers way too early in contest and not doing any significant damage to Obama. I predict Obama comes off the ropes in round 8 and tags him with a couple of rights that will leave him reeling - ala rumble in the jungle style.

11. Interesting Tidbit On TheTeevee
I think it was on MSNBC this afternoon...they were interviewing a "reporter" about the GOOP convention and things don't look like they're going that well for Gramps.

First...there's the boooosh problem...they'll give him Monday night but fear Mr. 25% will be a drag on the ratings and make himself the center of attention. Then they still haven't figured who to give the keynote speech to. Liberman wants it to shove it up the Democrat's behind, but it won't do much to rally the base.

That leads to Wednesday...and the Veepstakes. Gramps is treading on some real thin ice here. If he choses a Liberman or Ridge, both pro-choice, the reporter says the fundies are already sending signals that they will make a lot of noise...possibly entering their own candidate into nomination that could create chaos inside the hall...while outside will be 15,000 Paulbots wanting to be heard as well. Gramps may be forced into taking a Hucklenutz or right winger just to make it through the week. Then, on Thursday, Gramps gets to give his acceptance speech against the first NFL regular season game.

As Obama said last week..."is that all you've got?" That's a similar line to what Muhammed Ali used before he lowered the boom. Hopefully we'll look back at last week and laugh at how Gramps really screwed the pooch with going negative so early. Now he's used up his big cards and is stuck with having to debate issues. He's toast.

Once he's in the White House! He could end up talking and acting like Dubya!
