7. We can't keep supporting them forever

After all, we hope to leave that country at some point. Yes, we kicked in the door, and now we're feverishly working to put it back on. BUT, at some point the Iraqi government needs to start funding it's own programs. Good luck trying to get any of the politicians involved to give up their fortunes...we can't even get CEOs of failing companies to give up their bonuses when they failed at doing their jobs.

...I am an advisor to the Iraqi military, trying to help them rebuild as we speak. I talk to Iraqis every day...they are good people, and many are working very hard to get their country out of the trash bin. But again...do you want us to find an excuse to be here forever? Or do you want to get them standing again and self-sufficient (which means THEY will eventually have to fund their own country)?
