To think that drilling equals lower gas prices....

...you'd have to believe:

1. It is "our" oil.
2. Oil corporations are somehow "loyal" to America.
3. That there is enough amount to dent the world market.
4. That already existing leases are exhausted.
5. Drilling new areas can be accomplished in less than 20 years.

That is just 5 realities lost on those who are of the "Drill Here, Drill More, Pay Less" mindset.
