The inversion of reality
It is Obama playing the race card. These Rethugs are beyond scum.

1. I agree with Michelle Bernard (sp?) - Barack baited them and they took it.

4. I don't think they have a clue re Obama
He is not scared of them and they don't know how to deal with that. He learned from Gore and Kerry - fight back with class - do not remain silent.

6. That's right. It was a great offensive move to bring their "code" racism out into the open.

8. Yep and they sure bit the bait
Of course with their lousy ads being ridiculed they had to try something. Big mistake.

3. What's fun to watch today is Hardball
Shrum and Bernard are giving Buchanan a run for his big racist mouth.
One of the Rethug hacks will snap sooner and very soon and then we'll have 'Utubes' full of racist comments.

5. Two possibilities come to mind
The first is that McCain really is a maverick and he's become a crypto-democrat. Revolted by the Bush/Cheney maladministration he has resolved to ensure the Democrats get into power even at the expense of his personal dignity. His plan was first to win the Republican nomination and then to present himself as a candidate equally unelectable to both parties. His attacks on Obama are over the top in order to drive Republicans away from him and towards Obama.

The second is that McSame is another evil, psychopathic arsehole just like Dubya 'n' Dick. Like them he delights not just in hurting people but in rubbing it in. He is deliberately running adverts designed to drive Republicans away in order to highlight the pain we'll all feel when he steals the election, knowing that there is no way he could have won it honestly.

On balance, I feel 99.999999999% certain he's a fucking psycopath. But there's a slender chance I'm wrong and that McCain is a truly great man who is acting in the best interests of his country.

On second thoughts, I now believe it 100% certain he's a fucking psycho.

10. Yeah, but I sorta stole the first idea
from Tom Tomorrow's This Modern World. It had Cheney, Bush and (I think) Rumsfeld as 60s hippies plotting the overthrow of Republicanism from the inside. The rest from an increasingly unreliable memory... They tried leading the country into an illegal war and trashing the economy but still people thought they were wonderful. Then they bit the head off a rabbit on live TV while praising Satan and people still thought they were wonderful. Then they set off a nuke in an American city and people responded "We didn't need Pittsburgh anyway." Something like that. I wish I could find the toon and post it here.

Oh well, as Stravinsky said, "Lesser artists borrow, great artists steal." Except when you do a google for that quote, you'll find a lot of "great artists" who claim to have said it first. :)
