Israeli military chiefs spent last week in Washington

Israel's top military officers were in Washington last week for high level talks with the Bush administration and U.S. military officials.

The Israeli delegation, which spent a full week in the capital, included the Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, the head of the Strategic Department in the IDF Planning Branch, Brig. Gen. Yosi Hayman, and the Commander of the 74th Armored Battalion, Nir Ben-David.

The group met with Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staffs, and other senior U.S. military officers.

Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi also met with Vice President Dick Cheney, the National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, heads of Congress and Senate committees, and other senior members of the American government.
