Eleven Point Seven Billion Dollars In PROFIT
Edited on Thu Jul-31-08 10:09 AM by Husb2Sparkly
The largest profit of any American company ever.

When will people get sick of being fucked by these motherfuckers?

NATIONALIZE THEM!

In case this is too cryptic ...... that's what ExxonMobil is reporting today ... for the past QUARTER (i.e. THREE MONTHS) That's like four billion a month ....... That's close to a million bucks a minute.

2. There is no way the oil companies are just "passing on" the increased costs
to consumers.

If that were the case, they would be making about the same profits they were 7 years ago. But they aren't. They're making 4-5 times as much.

Congress MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. It is killing our economy.

9. Why Does The Democratic Controlled Senate Refuse To Act?
Because they can't do anything until they have at least 60 Democrats in the Senate .... well .... maybe they really need 70 or 80 Democrats in the Senate to get anything accomplished because many Democrats will vote with Republicans.

Of course, that will never happen, even in a landslide this fall.

The fact is some Democratic leaders are claiming that in order for the Democrats to pass any Senate bill to curb the oil companies or stop the oil speculators they need to elect at least 60 Democrats to the Senate!!

Why is that?

Because the Republicans will filibuster any progressive legislation!

So what?

Let them spend a week or a month for all I care to filibuster in support of the oil speculators and big oil companies.

While Democrats can take the floor and bash those moneyed interests!

That's just another lame excuse for inaction.

The Republicans didn't need 60 Republicans in control of the Senate when they passed legislation.

So why do Democrats?

Perhaps they just don't like fighting the Republicans while the Repugs love challenging the Democrats and beating them.

10. "When will people get sick of being fucked by these motherfuckers?"
As long as people continue to agree that what those motherfuckers have is worth anything, then I imagine people won't get sick of it, because people continue to try and get what those motherfuckers have. It's not sick of being fucked over, and actually changing anything. It's being sick of not having what they have.

The problem is that as more and more people come to live within the same system of society, all of those people must see everything the same way. And as the world shrinks, and there are fewer places left that aren't all connected to a single way of doings things, people have less and less choice. When mass society wants to privatize everything, nobody has a choice. When mass society wants to nationalize everything, nobody has a choice. Every square peg MUST fit into the same round hole.
