"OK, now let's take a look at John McCain's latest campaign ad." And, "We're going to show you that campaign ad one more time."

4. Fox News doesn't have or need a license.
Unfortunately.

7. Not at all. Only broadcast stations need a license. The network just creates the program content,

the FCC has no control over what they produce.

edit:

If the programming isn't transmitted "over the air" (goes only through cable) it's not even subject to gov't rules. (How satellite signals are regulated - or not - is still being fought over)

8. "...it's not even subject to gov't rules"
I don't think that's completely true.

Neither is "the FCC has no control over what they produce." Otherwise we would never have heard about Janet Jackson's breast.

9. The fines levied by the FCC were to individual broadcast STATIONS.
Look it up if you don't believe me.

(Okay, technically, SOME stations are owned by the network's parent companies so you could say they paid but they were not the targets of the charges)

10. It's not that I "don't believe you", I just thought it was different...
...obviously I learned it wrong.

Thank you for setting me straight.

12. If someone says something that is factually wrong...
...correcting them is not "pedantic".

3. I'll hear it 0 times.
I never turn it on and either move away from tv or leave places that have it on. I even have my in laws trained to not have it on when I'm there.
