Another no-bid FEMA contract, maybe?
So one of my kids is house hunting. Being the nosy and/or interested parents we are, my husband and I have been looking at maps showing the houses he's looking at, noting traffic patterns, schools, water supply, sewers etc. After checking out the free USGS topographic map. we looked up a flood plain map on the FEMA web site. What you can download for free is an 8 1/2 x 11 that shows an an entire township. All the details are so miniaturized that you can't read the extensive notes on the map. Want to download a map where you can set the size? You have to pay for that privilege!
