McCAIN ANNOUNCES TIMING OF OBAMA TRIP TO IRAQ
Edited on Fri Jul-18-08 02:53 PM by Bluebear
DETROIT (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain said on Friday that his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama, is likely to be in Iraq over the weekend.

The Obama campaign has tried to cloak the Illinois senator's trip in some measure of secrecy for security reasons. The White House, State Department and Pentagon do not announce senior officials' visits to Iraq in advance.

"I believe that either today or tomorrow -- and I'm not privy to his schedule -- Sen. Obama will be landing in Iraq with some other senators" who make up a congressional delegation, McCain told a campaign fund-raising luncheon.

or both

Can't be trusted with sensitive info because he's mentally unstable or has dementia.

Lather, rinse, repeat...

26. He's no leader; he's a partisan hack, a lobbyist's dream.
He cares only about his party believing he's going to get something from his loyalty.

He may have at one time done something for his country, but his life-long career in politics has made a mockery of that commitment.

2. Wow.
If anyone needs a reminder that this man is TOO OLD to hold office -- look at this *announcement*. Is he hoping for an attack on Obama, or has he missed a med cycle and his mouth is stuck on open?

12. Here is what it boils down to
He can get away with saying anything even if Obama is attacked to highlight this security gaffe.

He endangers Obama and maybe gets him shot.

He feeds the fear meme that we should never elect a good man of a specific type or something because he will be shot by virtue of the GOP god power- which people fear but eludes ALL accountability. The spin that he was shot because you need a "tough guy" to run the world will rule especially if it never actually happens.

He taunts Obama personally while he does these things threatening him and gets away with it.

That whole list of pluses make GOP crap like this thinkable, always doable and in fact constant, so that even those outraged can shrug off this as just one of those monstrous things they do. They will never stop this until we take this whole unnatural support structure down hard and low.

10. That SOB!
You can see Karl Rove's fingerprints all over this strategy to minimize Obama's trip overseas. It's political. They are squealing again. You know what that means? It hurts them and they know it - just like General Clark's comments.

29. It is and has been fair game to discuss McCain's conduct as a prisoner of war for he either
capitulated and violated the military code of conduct or was badly broken psychologically and spiritually: either way, the fact that he appears about to be anointed as the Republican nominee is ludicrous in concept except they know others will pull the strings just as with the Gipper and junior, two disasters for our nation, and sadly we might be going for three. :D

coterminously excoriated the General following his remarks about McCain's military service not qualifying him for the presidency. And each day I see a litany of letters to the editor of the local RW rag giving coverage to virtually every hot RW talking point. Give these mindless, soulless, unprincipled, lying bastards credit for raising this form of fake outrage/attack to an art form. :D

We don't know how he knows, but odds are McCain has verifiable info that Obama and others would visit Iraq this weekend. McCain says he isn't "privy," but then proceeds to reveal what is most likely the actual schedule.

:wtf:

Cancel the trip, guys. Cancel it.

And of course the media won't discuss it, because, 1) they shouldn't as it would just make the security issue worse, and 2) they don't want to make McCain look bad.

Iraq was liberated years ago.

They have a wonderful democracy.

It's safer than Detroit or DC.
