Florida is broke and will stay that way

Florida job losses fuel gloomy forecast
Economists say that the state, which had the highest number of job losses in the nation, will be in even worse shape than they previously thought.

The top job-loss state in the nation. Shrinking wages. Collapsing population growth. Record home foreclosures.

Florida's economy is not just firmly and bleakly in the red ---- it will likely stay that way until next June, according to the state government's top economists who issued their most pessimistic financial forecast in years.

-snip-

The most dire fact of all: Florida lost more jobs in the past 12 months -- 74,700 -- than any other state in the nation. And the economists predict that more people in construction, government, manufacturing, financial services, transportation and warehousing will be out of work soon.

how many does that make now? broke states.

4. It Just Won't Be Florida
Many states were already tapped out...trying to make up for "mandates" and other economic games created by this regime. To cut taxes and pay for a war for profit, the money had to come from somewhere and the states got the shaft...and now this.

The whammies of lost revenues from decreasing property values and foreclosures with the loss of sales revenues from a depressed retail to even further cuts from Washington and then throw in a decrease in payroll taxes and you have a real problem looming...and no place to really cut or "tighten". So what'll it be? Having a functioning police department or school? That may be the choice some face next year.
