Death of CBS Radio News...Media Bias..an example...
Edited on Fri Jul-18-08 11:03 AM by Stuart G
At 10 AM Central time on Friday.. 7/18/08 I heard a story on the CBS network radio news...(just now) It was Mc Cain making a comment putting down Obama for meeting with General Patraeus in Iraq. This had to do with Obama's upcoming Iraq trip. A person who believed that this comment is true is left with a sour feeling against Obama that he had never met with this particular general before and should have.... A hatchet job...

..Next, was a story from the New York Times saying that the electrical work in Iraq was far worse than had been previously reported.. That because of poor and substandard work, our soldiers were at risk from that too. And that they had been for a while. And we know that some have been injured and killed from this.

..This true and factual story about the outsourcing of work in Iraq and it's consequences came after a comment by a politician running for an office that has an election in November..This is July..

..If there had been no outsourcing, and the army itself had installed the electrical work, it is highly unlikely that there would have been any trouble at all. After all, the army would want decent electrical work for its facilities, and it is likely that the soldiers that would have installed it, would have after all, installed quality work..

..Of course, that is never mentioned by the CBS Radio News..never. Where did the idea come from that there should be outsourcing? Who did the outsourcing ? How was that person picked? Who was responsible for that pick?...Not discussed.

..Mc Cain's comment about Obama's upcoming trip to Iraq is more important than shoddy electrical work by some contractor that has hurt and killed our soldiers. Mind you, this comment and Obama's trip to Iraq itself is likely to be quickly forgotten. But the harm done by shoddy electrical work cannot be forgotten if you or someone you knew were harmed or killed by it.

CBS Radio News is a Right Wing hatchet job. Most of the time. It is dead. It has nothing to do with Edward R. Morrow or any of the great radio news reporters of the past.. It is owned by Summer Redstone...a right winger who tries to give us the feeling that this is objective news. It is not.

..I used to think years ago, that this a reliable source for news. CBS Radio News is no more reliable and honest than Fox. It is actually worse because everyone knows about Fox, and assumes that CBS Radio News is fair and objective. That assumption is a lie.

.. .CBS Radio News has Died, and is Dead.'

Here is a link to the complete story on the electrical work if you have not read it..(this is the true legacy of Mr. Bush) just read this story. It is very very sad.

1. CBS radio news is not Half as Bad as AP radio news
I don't know why NOVA radio uses them. My local air america station uses
CBS radio news, so I've heard both. AP radio news is far worse and yes, CBS
is bad too.

We need a third way that takes out these corporate hacks.

2. R.I.T.
Rest in Turmoil, CBS, for you have turned your back on the American people, and Bent Over for republicon corporatism.

And everyone sees it: your slant, your spin, your pixie-dipped propagandist news spokesmodels, and all the rest.

Everyone sees it.

3. There are just so many examples of this on the radio from
CBS..CNN, AP, and ABC. that it is one reason that we need to forget that news even exists on these networks.

4.  On CBS Radio,, slanting is old game. .....another example

In 2006, two days after the Democrats gained control of Congress,(this was determined if you recall early Wednesday morning, at 2 or 3 am..) and the news was still fresh, and the country was talking about possible change; at 8 or 9am on the CBS radio national news, the top story, again it was Friday, I remember vividly,...... was John Mc Cain forming a search committee next Monday... to determine when and if he would enter the 2008 Presidential Election. That story, was number 1, and lasted between 30 and 45 seconds on a 3 minute national news broadcast. So, Mc Cain's name was repeated a number of times to get people to notice it, when the real story was what was the new majority part going to do.
It was no mistake that this Mc Cain story was first. Somewhere, an editor or boss determined that this would be the best way to take the spotlight off of the Democrats and give it to the Republicans. Especially the person who had been pre- determined to be the person running for President.

..What can we do?
.. We can tell people who will listen not to listen to CBS Radio News. Ever. It is part of the Republican Party and out to destroy our chance to regain control of our country from them

..Perhaps if this network loses listeners, it may change. I wouldn't bet on it.
