I then go to comcast linup and the channel has been removed. I have a digital TV. I put that question on google and saw some alarming news; That comcast may be dropping MSNBC from their lineup. Does anyone have any further news on this alarming story?

41. Comcast has long worked to keep viewers detached from any
programming which would give them a real idea of what's going on ---

They took C-span II/Senate out of our regular line up more than a year ago --

And . .. I think it was just a day or two before the '04 election, they changed

EVERY channel number!

When we did have the Senate, they kept cutting down the hours it was shown.

And how do you like your Comcast bill -- ???

I keep trying to move this question with our Town Council members but no one

wants to pick it up ---

competition . . . ? where?

Comcast is paying off someone to let them run amuck ---

8. They were supposed to switch MSNBC to a digital tier on Tuesday.
So far we are getting it on both the old and the new channel. I had to get a new converter for upstairs so I could watch. Up until now I could watch off a straight feed. I haven't heard anything about them dropping the channel altogether, though. If they do that, I'll drop some of my services and won't hesitate to let them know why.

able to get both TV and broadband. They found an opening through the trees although sometimes I lose the signal if it's windy. Also, if the trees are on your property you can prune away some of the branches that are in the way that can create an opening. It doesn't take very much. I have used satellite TV in the middle of forests just moving it around until I could find and opening in the canopy. The only thing I haven't been able to find a signal through is a hill or tall building that blocks the signal.

13. I sent an email to Comcast expressing my opinion that this was political
because neither FOX nor CNN got moved to the upper tier. I received a phone call back. The woman said they are receiving many complaints and she would forward mine. She said there was a possibility MSNBC would be moved back. I told her that Comcast was the topic of discussion at a "Democratic online discussion group with more than 100,000 registered users, and that most felt there was a political motivation for the switch and many were strongly considering switching to AT&T or Dish Network. I said I would be doing the same if they did not restore MSNBC soon.

If you haven't called or written to complain, I urge you to do so. Link for Comcast feedback here:

I just don't see these bastard neocons slinking away in defeat.

Getting a foothold in Iraq was just the first step. However, it
took them decades to get that foothold.

I don't see them relinquishing power. They all know that if they
lose, that foothold is gone and similar progress won't ever be witnessed
in their lifetimes.

when we were out traveling in our RV in the middle of nowhere. That and solar panels kept us connected to the world. I still have them since we got grounded. I find I have to update the receiver every five years, but all in all it's been very reliable and I'm the envy of the neighbors for the vast selection I get and the excellent HD picture I get. My neighbors have the local cable outlet that is supposed to have HD but the difference between my reception and theirs is night and day.

29. From Comcast: "Important information about your Service" ....
I received this letter a few weeks ago about Comcast moving certain channels up the "dial" (including MSNBC).

Here's there explanation (which sounds like hogwash).

Why is comcast moving analog channels to the digital lineup?

By moving channels to digital we create capacity for more HD channels, faster Internet speeds and other enhancements in response to customer demand.

MSNBC was supposed to move to Ch. 251 in my area on July 15 --- but as of last night, it was still on Ch. 53.

In my case, it doesn't matter much, since I can get Ch. 251 in my cable package.

40. Same thing happened here in western CT
We have several TVs, but only the one in the family room is hooked up to digital cable with a box - the others are just the regular cable feed. I was furious, not just because of this but also all the service problems we've had for the last 3 years since "upgrading" to digital. Called the customer service line and let them have it with a really snarky list of questions and my own answers. Was told that we could "further upgrade" and spend $2/box for the other TVs, and an additional $5 for each set for the service. Add it all up, and this so-called service improvement would cost us an additional $35/month on top of the $120 we pay now for sub-standard service.

 :grr:
