Washington - Senators vowed Tuesday to consider all options to fix a broken system of caring for wounded troops as President Bush named former Sen. Bob Dole and former HHS Secretary Donna Shalala to lead the administration's investigation into problems at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Because these "bipartisan" commissions never-- repeat, NEVER -- deliver the goods on BushCo. It's always about the "middle course." "Let's not dwell on the past...." "Let's not demand accountability...."

5. She should be OK - but Dole

(or rather Dole's staff - since he is now near doddering - will try to run the show. If she is allowed staffing of her choice, she will fight hard.

My guess is they chose her because they could blackmail her.

Like all of these committees, it's a distraction.
If you ever want to bury an issue, put together a committee to study it.

I remember I think she opposed Clinton embrace of the fascist "welfare reform." She's no "New Democrat," thankfully.
