Impeachment Resolution: First Reading Today - SIGN THE PETITION

Dear Friends,

This afternoon, at approximately 5 p.m. (EDT), the Clerk of the House of Representatives will give the first reading of the Article of Impeachment of President George Bush. Article One charges the President with deceiving Congress with fabricated threats of Iraq WMDs to fraudulently obtain support for an authorization of the use of military force against Iraq.

Once the Clerk reads the bill, I will move to refer the bill to the Judiciary Committee for hearings. I believe the American people have a right to an open airing of the charges against this President. Did he or did he not lie to take us into a war? I believe the evidence is overwhelming that President Bush knew that Iraq was not an imminent threat, was not in possession of WMDs at the time, and had nothing to do with 911 or with al Queda's role in 911. And yet, despite having facts to the contrary, he took the U.S. into war with devastating consequences for our troops, our nation, and the people of Iraq. Congress must hold hearings.

There can be no greater offense of a President or a Commander in Chief than to conjure a war based on lies to Congress, to the troops, and to the people of America.

I love our country with all my heart and I intend to persist until America is America again.

Please contact your friends and neighbors and ask them to go to our website at www.Kucinich.us and sign the impeachment petition. Thank you for your continuing support and for your love of our country and its people.

Sincerely,

http://impeachment.kucinich.us/petition/">Sign the petition

17. where does it say in the Constitution that Congress needs petitions to do their jobs?
I understand the idea of grass roots support, but this will not get huge popular coverage. Representatives like Dennis (Robert Wexler, John Conyers, and others) need to do their jobs without running to us for a signature that tells them that we want them to do their jobs. My district attorney doesnt ask us to sign a petition for him to prosecute someone arrested for murder. The DA knows his job description and DOES IT.

Yeah, so long as it's a common citizen they're after. More higher in the heirarchy than the DA, any such prosecutions seem few and far between. DAs aren't stupid, they know who butters their bread.

4. We need to start a campaign to ask the M$M why they are ignoring Bush's crimes.
If thousands of people start demanding more on this, maybe they'll do it since * is on his way out and is very unpopular at this point. What the hell, maybe ad revenue will increase...

6. and what good have the petitions done? nada
what's Wexler up to?
as Bush been frogmarched out of the white house?
are the troops back home?

NOPE

Petitions are to make us FEEL like we are DOING something. Congresscritters chuckle when they get email petitions and dozens of voicemails, and with the push of the "delete" button, they all go away.

record with my worthless Congressman Matheson. Well, not entirely worthless but damned close.
