Bush shows his command of the issues at his news conference today.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 09:46 AM by bulloney
When confronted about the plan to rescue Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Bush says he doesn't consider it a bailout.

When asked if other sectors of the economy are vital to the overall health of the U.S. economy, specifically, General Motors, Bush equated a bailout with the government taking control of the company.

Didn't the government bail out Chrysler about 25 years ago with a package that included low-interest credit? I don't recall the government taking over the company in that bailout.

Bush was his usual terse partisan self, blaming the Democrats for the mess we're in.

I think he sets a new standard for ignorance every time he opens his mouth

1. He controlled Congress.
Now he claims the Democrats were responsible for what he controlled. He's a fucking liar and an idiot.
How can an MBA not realize that providing credit to Fanny and Freddy bails out investors who took undue risk. It's a private company. The shareholders are the owners.

2. And if we had a press corps in this country that would do its job,
they'd call the little moron on his lies.

They'd ask him how it is the Dems are responsible when it's been proven that HIS POLICIES are responsible for this mess.

For one, that cash sucking lie of a war in Iraq. How much better off would we be today if that monstrosity had never been started?

4. Much is the Dems fault to the extent any Dem has ever voted for anything junior wanted,
'cause everything junior has ever wanted was bad, bad for the country, economy, environment, rule of law, add your own. :D
