Can we "bailout" ExxonMobil as well?
To offset the bailouts of failed or almost failed companies like Bear Stearns, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae I feel we should now "bailout" a healthy company. I propose the next "bailout" should be ExxonMobil to bring in some profits to the "bailout" system. If 'conservative' "drown the government in a bathtub" USA is on board and ready to socialize the risks of big business then let's socialize some of the profits too.

I don't know how we're supposed to believe that a free market still exists in this country when all of the small players, whether companies or individuals, are left to fend for themselves while watching the biggest of the big get free help when times are tough and their excessive risk taking bites them in the ass. Throwing endless public money at the problem when risk blows up in their faces is simply going to endorse more risk taking in the future.
