1. I live in Denver, so I'll be here.
A DU meet-up sounds great.

2. good, a local
Got a question for you: My hotel is in Lakewood. I am thinking of renting a car to get back and forth to the convention center so a) how bad is parking downtown and b) instead of a car would you suggest public transportation?

3. I wouldn't recommend public transportation.
I don't use public transportation much. Denver is building a light rail system which I have found very convenient. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like light rail has been built in Lakewood yet. I did a little trip planner from lakewood to the Pepsi Center, and it looks like it would take about an hour, with a change of buses required - it's a 10 -15 minute drive). (here are a couple of links to Denver's RTD: http://www.rtd-denver.com/ and http://www.rtd-denver.com/SystemMaps/index.html).

I've never found parkingtoo bad in Denver's downtown. Street parking is metered. When I'm downtown I usually park in a lot - they're widely available - the price isn't bad (I grew up in NYC, so I'm used to expensive parking).

4. I would--especially if you are just tooling around downtown--also out to the Tech Center
The West Side (Lakewood) is coming soon, but not in time for the convention.

Free shuttle on the 16th Street Mall is awesome!

BTW, I'm on the inside of the Convention, working!

5. Look in the Colorado Forum.
It looks like someone is already setting something up.
