Here we go again - the Atlantic is warming up
http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200894_model.html

A large area of showers and thunderstorms...associated with a
tropical wave and surface low...is located over the tropical
Atlantic Ocean about 1550 miles east of the southern Windward
Islands. This system has become a little better organized during
the day...and has the potential to become a tropical depression
during the next couple of days as the wave moves generally westward
at 10 to 15 mph.

2. Oh, f---. I am leaving for NOLA on Friday afternoon and coming home
the following Tuesday. I DO NOT WANT OR NEED ANY HURRICANE WORRIES.

(wailing and gnashing of teeth......)

4. Oh, man. Don't these early storms head farther east?
I was hoping that would be the case, and that NOLA would be lower risk this early on.

5. Here's a satellite link
Pics
And computer models. The storm is currently called "94L."

This one worries me. We DO NOT need a freaking hurricane in the Gulf, spiking gas to $6/gallon and taking aim at any stretch of coast that has been trashed in recent years. Especially with the coming federal bailout of the mortgage companies. The double whammy --.
