'Wall-e' the movie. It says it all.
When it first came out I heard the repugs were having a fit about it.
So when my daughter said she wanted to see it, I agreed.

It's about the environment, corporate power and lies, and the power of people to get things done.
The President in the movie is also the head of the main corporation...and tells people to go shopping.

Yeah, it maybe animated, but the audience tonite was full of adults who didn't move from their seats until the last credit was finished.

It's worth seeing.

4. It was amazing - nobody got up from their seats when the movie was over.
The last time I witnessed that was when I went to see F-9/11.

5. There was another animated movie
about the destruction of the rain forest some time back that caused them to pee their pants too. The name escapes me now.

6. I'd rather spend money on a Wii.
Virtual fitness seems more productive than yet-another-movie-or-tv-show-that-bitches-about-modern-day-events. (I wish more would gripe at an uncreative, two-dimensional entertainment 'industry' that resorts to virtual necrophilia...)

Especially when the robot in that movie looks like the one Steve Guttenberg boinked in the mid-1980s...

7. I love movies - especially ones that make me think after the movie is over.
As far as fitness - I'd rather do it outside than infront of a tv.

But - I bet it won't be too long before we have Wii in our home. My family is really into gadgets.

Funny about Steve Guttenberg :)

8. You know the country is turning "left" by what animated movie draws
audiences. Remember the popularity of "The Incredibles" when neo-conservatism/libertarianism was the dominant socio-political leaning?

13. The Incredibles supports the left and right both.
Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 03:05 PM by gulliver
The bad guy was a self-made, capitalist, weapons designer. The good guys are elite beings.

Unlike Republican theology, the bad guy is successful, but did not inherit his success. He's evil and insane (Republican) but self-made (Democrat). The super-hero good guys are actually meritorious (Democratic) elites as opposed to undeserving, parasitic, who-ya-know-not-what (Republican) elites.

On edit: The Incredibles can be perceived as supporting the right, but that is just a major flaw in the way people interpret the right. Nevertheless, righties, though their understanding is erroneous, will feel supported. Lefties should feel supported by the Incredibles but often don't. Very ironic.

11. It does say it all "Buy Large"
is the catch phase that kills the planet, overconsumption and abuse of the ecology is the danger yet it provides a hopeful and positive message in the end despite what the human race has become in the movie it remains redeemable.

But it makes this point so well because the writers/directors/producers just did their best to tell a good story not forward an agenda.

I loved it and highly recommend it.
