Why Libby's lie was worth prosecuting.
When the RW tells you that prosecuting Scooter Libby for lying about the Plame scandal isn’t important, and they will, try this analogy on them:

While you are at work someone breaks into your home and steals your stuff. The neighbor across the street saw everything. He knows that the perpetrator drove a black Ford pickup with license plate XX-XXXX. When the police ask him about it instead of telling the truth he says all he saw was a green foreign car parked in the driveway. Instead of looking for the black truck with your stuff in it, they’re off looking for a green foreign car. The lie he told is at least as bad as the theft if not worse because it makes the job of the police more difficult than if he had said nothing.

2. It is about taking the investigation off the scent, but in the Libby case
...the smell was worse than what was experienced around the Nazi death camps of WW-II

3. Scooter's lies amounted to much more than theft
They include what amounts to conspiracy to commit murder. Some 3000+ America murders alone.

4. They impeached Bill Clinton
on a charge of lying under oath, when questioned about his affair with Monica. It was about lying, not the affair.

At that time, rethugs were virtuously declaring that lying under oath, no matter how small or how large a lie, was illegal and prosecutable.

It's amazing how far they've flipflopped between then and now. Now telling a lie under oath seems to be no big deal, no worse than telling your kids that there's a Tooth Fairy.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Republicanism
